I know it's been brought up before, Any new theories' On Range, I'm trying to get the tank to near empty so I can add new fuel, as I don't drive it much. When range shows 150 miles, I drive it 50 miles and range goes to 130, ??? Yesterday range said 35 miles, low fuel warning on, Drove 25 miles now range says 37 miles. Wish I could find a way to tell how much fuel is in both tanks.
The range indicator doesn't tell you how much gas is in the car. The gas gauge does. The range number is inconsistent because your driving varies. Drive on the freeway and get 30 MPG and the range will be higher than when driving in the city and getting 20 MPG. The Chevrolet app will give you the fuel onboard in per cent if that is preferable to you.

It is called a fuel gauge and surprisingly, it is described in the Owner's Manual. Its #3 in the first illustration. The second attachment is the explanation from the manual. I notice though that the manual does not describe the range number that is next to the fuel gauge. In any case the capacity of the tanks all together is 18.5 gallons. The fuel is always equalized between the tank. If the gauge read 1/2 then you have about 9 1/4 gallon, give or take subject to error.
Just fill it up when it's at a 1/4 tank and that should do it. Drive like crazy or slow till it reaches 1/4 again. This what I do, just not as much crazy anymore. .
