Rear axle off

I was on a 2 hour road trip and I kept getting rear axle off message. I wasn’t driving hard or anything it was set to cruise control. When I would slow down and speed back up (not fast) the shifting was super hard. Anyone have any advice on this subject?

Yeah, I had the same message pop up when I had a loose ignition coil wire. It could mean a number of things, and you wouldn't know until you have the codes read.
