Throttle cable disconnect for Soler Controller

I hate to post that I can not disconnect the throttle wire/connector to the pedal in order to add the Soler controller to my '26. It is kicking my ***!! For the likes of me I do not know what I'm missing but it will not come off. It should be a simple task, watched several videos/posts but nothing. Your help is very much appreciated.
Whats the "black tab" some say needs to be pressed to release, I have that covered I hope which is under the red lock.

I do not have one or put one in but i do recall some one saying they used the connectors on the new controller to figure out the secret to releasing it .

It's easier removing the pedal.

Thanks I have removed it. Might be a tad big to get it apart. Ill get my son in-law to get it. Attached is corvette build number 4 so you can feel my frustration on such an easy task
