Default Brake judder and Brake pads

Thanks to all who have offered explanations for brake judder. I have a 2022 C8 Z51 with stock calipers and Brembo OEM pads. I have judder during track use that increases with increasing laps but does not occur during street driving. What I am looking for is the experience of those of you who also have HPDE induced judder with OEM pads. If you tried non-OEM pads, please reply with ID of pad tried and if it reduced/eliminated judder. I want to see if pad choice will help before investing in new rotors/calipers, etc. There are a lot of pad options so I am hoping the Forum's knowledge will narrow down my options.

explain a little more the symptoms .......does the anti lock brake warning come on the dash when it happens , does the steering wheel vibrate under braking [front brakes] or do you feel it in your seat [rear brakes ] . Warped rotors can be more pronounced hot high speed stops

Funny you should ask!

I have a post somewhere last year where I went though all sorts of pads, rotors, even changed the front wheel bearings trying to figure this out! Ultimately this year, a few weeks ago, I decided to just trade it in for a Z06...

Here's my old post: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...on-issues.html

However bottom line, from what I could gather is that the ABS is very sensitive, and unless you are in RACE 2, where almost all "nannies" are off, ABS is very aggressive. Coming from a C7 Z06 track only car, it's a world of difference in braking with the C8.

I only track my car, so of course any street driving there is no "judder"...

I even, over black friday last year purchased AP racing calipers / rotors to change out for this year / season, but instead went for the Z06, so never got to install / use the AP racing to see if those helped.

I had tried stock rotors / pads, Girodisc rotors, EBC rotors, DTC pads, nothing helped.

No anti lock light, yes steering wheel vibrates, not much seat vibration. Changed front rotors, worked for a few sessions, then judder again.

I've tracked my '23 z51 with stock rotors and pads and with girodisc rotors and stock pads. No judder in 30+ track events. I've since switched to Carbotech xp12s but haven't been on the track yet. I suspect uneven pad transfer on your rotors. I'd DA them with 80 grit and re-bed the pads.

How did you bed the pads? Per the track guide?

I sand the rotors with 80 grit each time I change pads. I bed the pads as described in track guide. I suspect uneven pad transfer too. Perhaps the stock pads do not hold up well to track-based brake heat.

The ABS light will not come on... See my post here where you have to examine the PDR data with Cosworth toolbox and see where the ABS kicks in:
