Transmission Failure 24 C8 Stringray
I thought I'd make a thread for tracking overall issues, this is purely a knowledge post for others that I will update as my transmisison is being replaced.
Hey folks, I bought a brand new c8 stringray in June of 2024, followed proper break in procedure, oil change and transmission filter changes done at correct intervals. Otherwise just enjoyed the car over the last two years, I put about 20k miles on her.
Last Sunday the car suddenly begins skipping even gears(2,4) with a notice saying "idle creep disabled". I dropped it off at the dealership from where I bought the car figuring I need a transmission change. I was debating doing mods like a catback, but thank god I didn't. Didn't want to give Chevy a single inch in case something happened.
Quick Question:
Do I have any options with Chevy that I should resonably pursue? E.G when my gt350 engine had to be replaced I was able to get a free extended warranty, etc etc

Diagnostic Information

Test Configuration
- Connector: T12 Connector at the transmission
- Test Points: * Signal Circuit Terminal: 12
- 5V Reference Circuit Terminal: 20
- 5V Reference Circuit Terminal: 20
- Equipment Used: 10-amp fused jumper wire (the manual specifies 3-amp, but a 10-amp was utilized in the demonstration).
Diagnostic Results
- Required Parameter: Greater than 4.8 V
- Measured Value: 5.5 V
- Conclusion: Since the measured voltage exceeded the threshold, the manual dictates: Test or replace the T12 Automatic Transmission.

you can ask for a freebee anything , they might throw something at you , try something on the exhaust that gm sells .....myself i would settle for a loaner car

If your even gears are gone, then suspect a failed Valve Body. Dealers are now replacing these without replacing the whole transmission, so you should be good to go soon after the parts are in. Hopefully!
