Yeah, the 10-bolt was weak. I had a deposit down on an Incon Twin Turbo (same builder as the C5 Linginfelter (sp) kit) in the late '90's so I installed a KTRE 14 bolt and McLoud clutch in preparation. Pretty stout diff, but on the road coarse when I went over 115 MPH, then slower and then back up to speed the ABS would inop.
Turns out KTRE lied and it wasn't compatible but it did fit. I felt much better dumping the clutch on a launch. It would make a super loud BANG like it had play and then WOT power. It never broke but Incon fell through on their promise and I got my deposit back (not everyone fared that well).
I really miss those days when the ls1 first came out. It was so dominate over everthing else until the terminator came around and gave competition. That engine changed everything for GM in a good way. Almost like current times with how dominate GM is engine wise.
