Pretty cool. Not happy with only 1.25 inches overall width increase but maybe they can make it appear like more with other aero parts. The C8R is 4.6in wider than the base ME Stingray. I was hoping for at least 2.5 rear and 1.5 front wider on the ZO6

The fenders will be widened more than 1.25” left side to right side.
So does this N50 designation imply the Z06 will be a 2022MY? Of course, we are all assuming the Z06 will be the first performance variant being released.

Dunno if the car needs to be widened more than what was claimed in the article. Depends on how much inside rear tire clearance they allowed on C8. Could be to keep the Z06 from looking like a riced-out flared special, they didn't use all the allowable space for inside tire clearance and can use some of that + smaller flares to get 345s on the back and 285/295/ up front.

So if the alphas are being developed now, what does recent history (such as with the base C8) tell us about a timeline as to when these will start getting into customer hands?

Not sure. The Captured Test Fleet may need a year to sort things out. We may be looking at a 2023 Z06. This is big news and with John (Mid Engine Corvette Forum) sharing this, it is meaningful. His "birdies" are informed.

Which Generation Corvette’s wheel opening flares looked rice?? I don’t think that’s a worry.
Now, all we need to do is wait for JVP to hop on this thread and tell us how it's not true. Then, we can all go back into our holes and continue waiting
I seriously doubt this means it’s a 2022 model. The C7 Z06 was announced well in advance of the production date. I still think we are looking at a MY2023 car at the earliest.

I dont know if it would, right or wrong his attitude turns allot of people off. There are allot of others out there that are in the know. Either way we always get the info before it goes public

?? They started production of the C7 Z06 three months after the January announcement?
Not saying it cannot be a 2023...just saying it may take time to figure out the alphas and betas but once announced...it's pretty fast after that.

Same with the C8... Announcement was in July, production started in September. 3 months later. The Z06 could easily follow the same schedule.
Dude, I ain't heard from Corvette_Nut in like a year. Casually just drops that photo in here and disappears right after N50 information gets leaked. You KNOW that's a legit photo/render/future configurator image.

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
