Default 2023 Engine Model

My apologies ahead of time if the following post is an asinine question however I have to ask. Does anyone know or maybe have heard what motor is being planned for the 2023 Z06?!? I am hoping at the very least an LT4 type motor but would even find appealing an LS427 or LS7 motor. I currently own a 2008 Z06 427 and find the the overall performance of this vehicle astounding. Again, my apologies ahead of time if this post offends anyone. Thank you!

No one knows. But 80% of the posts in this forum are people arguing about it. So there's plenty for you to read on the topic lol

Welcome to the forum! The C8 Z06 has been confirmed 100% to be using the LT4 from the C7 generation. They reduced its power output a bit though so that it wouldn't overheat. It will make 600hp and 550ft-lbs. This was confirmed by the Chief Engineer, Chuck Norris.

Ironically that question has not been discussed in this part of the forum yet?

Just kidding, welcome to the forum No one knows outside of a select few in GM and none of them are talking. There are a few on here that will pretend they know...but they are as clueless as the rest of us. Prevailing opinions tend to be either a very high revving 5.5lt fpc NA engine producing ~640hp or a smaller fpc engine that is TT producing ~700hp...but again no one really knows for sure until the reveal. Pull up a chair and enjoy the speculation and inevitable wait with the rest of us.

The C8Z will actually not use a traditional combustion engine at all, instead it will use a miniaturized fusion reactor. Confirmed.

This is the million dollar question right now, every thread is rife with speculation on what power plant the Z06 will have. We/they fall into basically two camps..

600-630HP 5.5L NA DOHC FPC
700-745HP 5.5L TT DOHC FPC

Take your pick because your opinion is as good as anyone else’s guess.
Although we have seen and heard little to no evidence of a blown engine besides a CAD drawing from a couple years ago, none of the cars we have seen this far have sounded anything like a turbo car besides one video where it may or may not have been the truck behind the Z06 or the passing BMW..

Maybe GM found a way to make the best sounding Turbocharged car ever created?
We will know much more next month, and then we will know (mostly) all come Oct 26.

Fixed that displacement for you. No need for the motor to be 5.5L if its twin turbo'd. The turbo believers think it will be a 4.2L-4.4L motor if it comes with twins. 5.5L if NA.

Pretty sure it's going to be Gas Turbine Engine. Pratt and Whitney has rumored to be manufacturing it so it's using the lightest and strongest materials. 600hp/1800 ft/lbs.... Thanks for literally doing zero reading anywhere on the internet.

Welcome to the Corvette forum and the internet as well. It's nice to have a fresh fish that doesn't know it all like everyone here, lol.
It's DOHC for certain. It's fast.
5.5L NA FPC V8 620-670 hp
4.2L Twin Turbo FPC V8 705-750hp
5.5L CPC 180' headers 700 hp???

Many sources are pointing to a 5.5 liter DOHC flat plane crank V8 based off the Cadillac blackwing engine (found only in the ct6 blackwing, not to be confused with the ct5 blacking which has an upgraded lt4 engine). It will have between 625-650 hp. Idk why so many people are confused on whether or not it is turbod or na. The Z06 has from the start with ZORA, been the track oriented Corvette, and thus naturally aspirated is more desirable for its on track performance over turbo or supercharger induction systems. the Zr1 and ZORA will both have a turbocharged version of this engine. The ZR1 having around 850 hp, and the ZORA will have around 1,000+ (with the addition of a hybrid system from the E-RAY. The E-RAY will have the same 6.2 liter pushrod na engine from the stingray with the obvious addition of a hybrid system. But once again, nothing has been from GM concerning these engines so nothing we say is 100%.

People are confused because there is no concrete information out there, but dozens of people running around spreading their own speculation like it is 100% facts. Your post was a perfect example of that right up until the last sentence

There is no credible information that there will be a 5.5 liter engine based off the Cadillac Blackwing engine. It does not have the bore centers to support 5.5 liters. It is a Gen 6 small block with the same bore centers as the last 5 generations of small blocks.

OP asks a question and the kings of sarcasm have responded.
It would be nice if they either responded intelligently or just moved on from his post.
