So given that many people want aero but can’t get it due to supply issues, why can’t GM allow for an option to install all needed mounting hardware at the factory so aero can be added later when available? Thinking specifically about the rear wing. Anyway, just wondered…
Yeah, because they want to deal with 50,000 bitching customers after Dwight down at the local Chevrolet emporium screws up the install and damages the Z06 you paid $50,000 ADM on.
- "My spoiler looks a different shade of carbon flash than the rest of the car when viewed 2 minutes before sunset if parked nose down in my driveway."
- "Dewey, Cheetum and Howe Chevrolet has had my car for a month because their bodyshop can't figure out how to install my aero kit."
- " My dash cam caught a dealer tech doing burnouts in my new Z06."
- " Dealer washed my car when I asked them not to. Is it totaled?"

Maybe uncoupling the aero and Z07 packs? Might not be an option if the suspension, cup 2 tires and aero are all dependent on each other for predictable handling at high speeds.
Because GM's current focus is not to please customers, its to please themselves. They have proven that many times over in the past year ($20K unnecessary price hike, no warranty clause for customer only while allowing dealers to buy/sell retail stock at $100K over MSRP rather than honor their lists, etc)
According to Josh Holder installing the high wing after the fact is much more difficult as it's mounted to the sub frame. Which would require a different rear fascia or panel for that section(different hole placement). If you remove the standard wing you have about 6 more holes to deal with on that panel. If you really want the wing this is something that should be considered.

Do you have the financial responsibility to run a business? If you could earn 25% more revenue for your product and still sell everyone you can make for several years, and decided not to do it, you should be fired. You would have failed to carry out your fiduciary responsibility.
If you are the sole owner you can do stuff like that. If you answer to shareholders, you better have a stellar reason. What would your stellar reason be?

This is exactly what i meant when i started this thread. Why can’t GM install that panel, and all other subframe attachments so that when the wing becomes available it can simply be bolted on? I remember when guys were trying to add the ZR1 wing to the C7Z06 and you had to remove the bumper, cutout the square attachment points, etc. I’m just saying GM could make it easier on people to add later given the supply constraints.
