Default Redemption Points

Does anyone know the actual procedure for getting the redemption points money ($5000)? My dealer seems to be rather uninformed on the process, and I want to make sure I do not lose out on this.

I've setup a MyChevy account and put in my VIN, but is there more to it than this?

If you have the account setup the first thing that will happen is that you will get points on your purchase of any GM car a few days after completing the purchase. This is unrelated to the 500k bonus points for retention. My understanding is that those will show up several weeks after you've gone past the six month mark. I don't think points in your account expire, they just sit there until you want to use them for accessories or a subsequent car purchase (I don't believe they are redeemable for cash). You can add to them with a GM cc as well.

The only way I have been able to find to use points for “cash” is paying off a GM financial loan. I took a small amount for this and then to check the process used the initial 20k points from the purchase of the car to pay one installment and it worked fine. So now I am awaiting the 500k points…

What soulsea said getting points into your account a few days after buying your Corvette is a good test that everything is setup correctly to receive the 500,000 pints in 7-8 months.

I got this a while back from the Corvette Action Center. It's obviously outdated because it says you must keep your ZO6 for 12 months not the current 6. Is there a revised form that needs to be signed off at the dealership or have they done away with it altogether?

Didn’t have to sign anything when I took delivery a couple of weeks ago.

What rate did you get? Seeing advertised best rates in the 9s from them. Was thinking of financing $10K, making 6 payments with the final in full with the points.

The rate sucks. I think mine is like 7.5. I financed $10k since it was a round number, but in retrospect I should have done $6k. The monthly installment is $175, so even with 6k and 7 months I should have got what I needed.
