Default Spring Mountain Upgrade

Hey @socalspringmountain , are there any plans to allow those that have taken the owners school previously (i.e. C7 and C8) but don't want to take another owners school for the Z06. Someone on here already stated that you don't offer level1/2 for the Z06 yet but can upgrade to take the level1+ course on the regular C8 instead? Have a friend getting his Z07 next week (hopefully) and his wife was asking about options to send to him a higher performance school for the big anniversary.

You need to call them and ask! They are usually very helpful. I'm going out on the 17th to take the level 2 for the second time. Lots of fun, lots of track time. If he has taken C8 owners, they will know how he did and decide whitch level they will approve. Just give Ashley or one of the other girls a call. JD

She did and was told not an option for z06 owners. Which is why I was asking here to see if any plans for the future @socalspringmountain

I'll be taking just the owners course and looking forward to it

Hello,
At this time, we are not offering the level 1 or 2 school upgrade for the z06, As we are still building the fleet up from what we have now. We have not set a date for that program to start...only regular COS, in which the z06 is included for those owners.

Thanks @socalspringmountain . The question though isn't about Level 1 or 2 school for the Z06 but rather can he upgrade his Z06 COS for a regular Stingray Level 1 or 2. Obviously the preference would be to do the L1/2 in a Z06 but given you don't know when that will be and the GM subsidy expires in one year. hopefully this helps as I wasn't exactly clear before. thanks

Oh ok. Understood.
That is also something we aren’t yet doing either. For the now, we just are allowed to put z06 owners, in the COS, in a z06….we hope to be able to offer more options down the road…

First, thank you Spring Mountain for replying in this forum. I took your introductory Z06 COS with my C7 and had a great time. Maybe too much of a good time as that helped lead me to about 100 track days since then. I expect delivery of a C8 Z06 in a week or two and contacted Spring Mountain and was told the same thing. I would not be eligible to enter the level 1 or 2 class even if I was happy to just drive a Stingray. I understand the shortage of Z06's and would happily drive a Stingray in level 1/2.

Is someone working with GM to get this resolved? It does not seem to make sense that that buying the track focused Z06 that likely costs 30-50% more than the Stingray would offer a much lesser driving experience than can be taken by a Stingray owner. Thank you.

Hi!
Happy to hear that you took the previous class, and glad you took your car to the track!
We are working to get approval to be able to use the certificate, as a credit to the level 1 or 2…
totally understand the request…
apologies we can’t accommodate at this time, but as soon as we get an update, we will email our clients, as well as post it here…

Thanks @socalspringmountain for providing more information. Assume the "we are working to get approval" is from Chevrolet? Can those interested send an email to ?? and let them know how many people would be interested especially given that the Z06 is track focused tool. How would they allow it for stingray but not z06? Seems like a no brainer and maybe they just need some encouragement to help? thanks

I’m game.
I have been to the Corvette owners school twice.
once in 2015 with a SR, then again In 2017 in a C7 Z06.
Now I have a 2023 Z06 and keenly interested in the Level 1or2 schools

Default Question regards Spring Mountain opportunity

When I bought my Cadillac CTV 5 Black Wing, for around $120,000 ($15,000 ADM) I got a FREE two day course at Spring Mountain
When I just got my Z06 for around $150,000 (MSRP) I got a advertisement to go for a price of $1,000.
Is it free for Cadillac and not Corvette?

That is correct.
We do not make that policy...Cadillac and Corvette, though both are GM, are separate contracts and as such, have their own budgets, and stipulations.

Yes, we are working on being allowed to use certificates for other Corvette programs that we offer.
