Default Anyone having electrical gremlins?

I’ve had a couple so far. Today, my rear camera wouldn’t turn on. When I put the car in reverse, it just showed a black screen with a “no camera” error icon. And the camera app was missing from the dash.

A bigger annoyance has happened a couple times where the remote start by double clicking on the key fails. Then, when I got in the car to try and start it, it wouldn’t start and showed me an error screen in the gauge cluster —

When this happens, the way to fix it is to take your foot off the brake, open the door (unsure if this is necessary, but I seem to need to do it), and press the ignition button once to turn off electronics. Then close the door, foot on the brake, and press the button for a full start. Sometimes it works right away, sometimes I have to repeat this cycle a couple times.

Mine did the no start thing once. After trying and trying. I finally tossed the fob in the cup holder and called for a ride to come get me. On a whim I tried once more while the fob was in the cup holder, and it started. I read somewhere that the cup holder is where you put the fob if the battery is on its way out, and it’ll start. So I put a pack of spare fob batteries in the car just in case, but this has never happened again. The thought of having to tow / haul this car to the dealer scares me. Not only the transporting of it, but our dealer service departments around my area are not that good. Has yours don’t this no start thing multiple times?

The battery might not have enough voltage to make the electronic interlocks happy. My 2019 Z06 would give me a step on the clutch to start DIC message when I hit the Start button. Of course I had the clutch pedal to the floor already. Getting out of the car, opening and closing the rear trunk lid and starting over again seemed to wake up the battery enough for the start function to be Enabled. Got so bad that the car had to be started and driven every 2 or 3 days to charge the battery up enough. Finally replaced that 5-1/2 yo factory Delco with a new AGM type battery yesterday.

My 2023 Z06 has had all types of gremlins, most resolve themselves by shutting the car off and restarting it. It just recently had to be serviced because the most recent update deleted my Z mode. It had to be reprogrammed. The infotainment system is a joke, sometimes the screen goes blank and sometimes it just does things all by itself. Car is basically f...ed up, at his point I just accept that, but GM should fire whoever programmed the software for this thing.

as mentioned above, its worth having the battery tested if the problems primarily occur at start-up or shortly after. A few stingray owners went through gremlins only to discover a weak battery was the culprit despite the car being new.

Weirdly enough, this issue has only happened for me in situations like...I drive to the store, grab some things, and come back out and try to drive off. But it fails after having just been driven. And it only fails on remote starts - never on normal, in-car starts.

That was the exact same scenario when it happened to mine.

I feel like I shouldn't need to. The car is being driven every day.

If a daily driver, a tender is only a bandaid covering up an issue.

Default Yes to gremlins

My Z was built in Late July and has been solid other than a few weird electrical gremlins like you mentioned. In my case, the camera not working like you described, seems to go away after a couple restarts. May have been a coincidence but twice it happened right after washing the car. I also had a failed over the air update. At least a message in the car said update failed, and in the infotainment unit under update history its blank but in the my check app it lists two separate updates as having installed, so I don’t really know what to believe. Car seems to be running fine. Just those weird gremlins mentioned

There is a new TSB for a potential pinched wire harness for Z06's. Wonder if that might be your problem?
