We aim to remove any remaining oil from the blowby line(s) between the top of the oil tank and the intake manifold, with the bonus of including auxillary crankcase pressure release as needed.

The 6 scavenger pump stages pull the oil and gasses from the 4 sealed crankcase bays, the head drains, and the front cover, so the entire engine is sealed and runs at negative pressure created by the scavenger pump independent of intake manifold vacuum.
The output of the scavenger stages is plumbed to the oil tank.
I see now you are talking about the ventilation of the oil tank, not the crankcase directly, to the intake manifold.
blowby + oil gets pumped out of the sealed lower
the oil tank tank does a rough job of separating the blowby from the oil pumped into it
the bottom side of the tank is mostly air free oil for the engine
the top side of the tank is mostly oil free air, where all the pumped in blowby is released to the separately sealed upper
this crosses the cylinder heads in a 'pcv'-like sweep toward this box on the opposite valve cover
-where I presume this box does more work to remove oil, possibly regulate the return in some fashion, then
it is drawn / pumped into the intake manifold
