I am on the long list at MacMulkin, and have some basic questions about the overall experience...any answers appreciated:
1) How long does it take from arrival at MacMulkin until you actually drive off? Lots of paperwork? Introduction to the car? OnStar setup? Other?2) Does MacMulkin offer financing? If so, what was your experience with this? Is it through GM or some other bank? Were the rates good?
3) Do you drive away with a temporary license plate?
4) If you are from out of state, is that an issue from a title transfer standpoint (assuming I pick up at MacMulkin)? How do I get the car titled in my state if not New Hampshire?
5) What fees will MacMulkin add such as doc fees so that I can be prepared and not surprised? Can anyone post a pic of their paperwork showing any add-ons and the “bottom line” that shows this?
6) Will they try to upsell on anything such as ceramic coating, clear bra, glass etching, undercoating, etc?
7) How much notice will I get to plan a trip up to pick up the car? In other words, will they just call and say "The car arrived today, we'll have it ready tomorrow"? (I would have a 12 hour drive, so would likely need to book hotel, etc.)
8) I would think their PDI would be about as good as it gets, given all the experience they have. If I decide on a museum delivery instead, who does that PDI? Which would you trust more?
9) After you order the car through MacMulkin, what further communications do you get, if any from them? Or if you want to know status after that do you have to call someone at BG/Chevrolet?
I did a courtesy delivery in AZ so do not have answers to most of your questions, RE #5, They charge a modest document fee ($472 for me), but then reduce the MSRP by that amount, so your "out the Door" price is MSRP. That is as of now when they are selling at MSRP.
Depending on how far out you are on their list, maybe you will buy under MSRP? With 2019 Z06s they were selling nearly $20K under MSRP. Clearly current demand is not indicating under MSRP in the near term for the C8Z.
Thanks, good info on the doc fee. I'm pretty far out on the list. Time will tell.
I'm also on a list for a Lotus Emira, but the Toyota V6 is just not powerful enough so I'll likely not finalize that deal. Besides, LOTUS stands for "Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious" LOL
I used to live in Valparaiso IN and now I live in Apex NC just outside of Raleigh. My last three corvettes were from MM. No doc fee. No games. No BS of any kind. Best dealership experience I have ever had with any dealership, and I have owned many, many cars. My 2014 C7 stingray I flew there and drove it home. Very efficient with the paperwork and had a temp plate. 2nd time with my 2016 C7 Z06 they gave me 20K OFF MSRP through some special incentives over Labor Day that year, best deal I have ever had on any new car - period. For my C8 Z06 I did museum delivery for the first time and it was great. When other dealerships were breaking their word left and right and charging 50 to 100k over msrp and getting it, MM stood by their word. They also offer very competitive pricing on GM extended warranty if you want it but they don’t push anything. I have no affiliation with them whatsoever, just sharing my experience. First two times I dealt directly with Tommy JR. This last time it was one of his guys. Bottom line, when it comes to MM they are beyond reproach. Good communication, before, during, and after the sale - every time. I don’t often leave reviews, but when I saw this post I felt compelled to share my story. They are the #1 selling corvette dealership in the world for a reason. Hope that helps.
1) How long does it take from arrival at MacMulkin until you actually drive off? 1 or 2 days Lots of paperwork? Most of it is done before you arrive via e-mail. Introduction to the car? Yes. As much or little hand holding as you want. OnStar setup? Yes Other?2) Does MacMulkin offer financing? Yes If so, what was your experience with this? No experience; I paid cash. Is it through GM or some other bank? Were the rates good?
3) Do you drive away with a temporary license plate? No. They sent all the paperwork and I went to the DMV and the car was registered before I showed up at MM. I had my real tags installed at MM. This might vary by state because some states require inspection before the plates can be issued.
4) If you are from out of state, is that an issue from a title transfer standpoint (assuming I pick up at MacMulkin)? How do I get the car titled in my state if not New Hampshire? The car is never titled in NH; the first time it is titled is in your state.
5) What fees will MacMulkin add such as doc fees so that I can be prepared and not surprised? Can anyone post a pic of their paperwork showing any add-ons and the “bottom line” that shows this? No hidden fees. The invoice shows the price as equal to MSRP less the doc fee, then the doc fee is added back. You drive out at MSRP.
6) Will they try to upsell on anything such as ceramic coating, clear bra, glass etching, undercoating, etc? They will offer the extended warranty and PPF over e-mail. No upselling in person.
7) How much notice will I get to plan a trip up to pick up the car? In other words, will they just call and say "The car arrived today, we'll have it ready tomorrow"? (I would have a 12 hour drive, so would likely need to book hotel, etc.) Varies. You can track when the car is built. They let you know when the car is on the way from BGA. You have time if the car arrives and you need a week or two to get it.
8) I would think their PDI would be about as good as it gets, given all the experience they have. If I decide on a museum delivery instead, who does that PDI? Which would you trust more? The MM PDI is good, but no guarantee of perfection. Unsure if NCM is better, but use NCM if the whole experience appeals to you. Keep in mind factory tours aren't always running.
9) After you order the car through MacMulkin, what further communications do you get, if any from them? Or if you want to know status after that do you have to call someone at BG/Chevrolet? You get e-mails and MM's website has a tracker that is updated weekly.
10) Any other comments on the overall experience? They're very efficient and are above the board. Bought 3 vettes from them. The first was courtesy delivery. The last two were pick up and drive home.

Thank you very much Rag and Avette! Good info. I’m considering the museum delivery mainly due to logistics and travel expenses from Indiana to NH. I live only 2 hours from BG so that would be much easier for me and would negate the need for hotels, one-way car rental, gas expenses, etc.

MM can pick you up from BOS or MHT if you need them to. So no need for a car rental.
Granted R8C I think is a must do at least once if you can make it work.
My experience with several out of state purchases from reputable dealers is you buy the car and have them overnight the title. Take to DMV to get plates. In this case fly to Manchester NH airport plates in hand Drive home.
I think you pretty much have your answers, but just from mt experience as an out-of-state buyer.
Everything was done via email ahead of time even the OnStar and MyChevrolet app was set up via email exchanges. They FedEx'd me some paperwork to bring to my MVA/DMV to get the car titled and registered. I walked out of the local MVA with hard tags and a registration. (The title was mailed to me about 10 days later from the MVA). I emailed a copy of the registration to MM and I was all set to pick up my car if I wanted.
MM coordinated a delivery from MM to my home, that was a separate out-of-pocket expense that I did the transaction with the trucking company and not MM.
The PDI was minimal on my Z06, just installed the wing and did the required mechanical checks. The interior of the car was still wrapped up and they definitely did not detail the interior or exterior which I didn't mind doing myself.
I don't think MM goes to BOS anymore; unless they recently restarted the service. They do courtesy pick up at MHT.
You are correct, I picked up my Z06 a couple of weeks ago and asked about pick up from Boston and they said they don't do that any longer. Everything everyone else said holds true. I had prior C8s so didn't need any orientation so I was in and out in about 20 min. and never spoke to an F&I guy as all that was done prior to delivery. The most trouble free car purchase I ever made.
I assume anyone who's picking one up in NH and driving it home is waiting until spring. If so, I live about 20 minutes from Logan and would be open for an airport pickup and drive to NH if I'm around.
I dont think this was mentioned but I think it another key element that differentiates MM from the "others".
So after 2.5 years of waiting for a Z07 I just got the call on Tuesday that they just received an allocation of around 45 Z07's and I was #37 (Originally 150). As you know, the price of the car increased for 2024 but MM honored my original price and discounted the difference ($2,400). They are also going to pick up of my '15 C7Z that Im trading at no additional cost - That's how you build lifetime business clients and another reason why they are simply the best. It not a lot of money but they aren't trying to fu@k me out an additional $25k for a dealership tax or other fees. They have principals and honor them - Very rarely seen in the car business these days.

I drove both my C8s home in January from MM. It was 19* on the day I picked up my stingray . The car drove home just fine and the tires didn't fall off the car. Dodged a little bit of snow on the back roads. Low 30s when I brought home my Z06.
Thanks to the OP and all the previous responders. I'm a previous Porsche owner looking to buy my first Corvette. A see a couple that I like at MacMulkin and they are priced $9k off sticker. Is that normally a final price with them?

They do not deviate one nickel. The price is the price plus their fees.
Side note I have bought 3 new C8’s and have beat their price everytime locally.
YMMV
