Just finished putting in the Peitz harness bar and harnesses. Apsis front splitter and strut brace in, just waiting for my 19/20 forgeline wheels. Track open day 4/11, can't come soon enough.
Look forward to pictures with the wheels on. Why you go that size? More tire options?
lighter wheels, more sidewall. As I track the car a lot I'm not thrilled with tire option. I get about 3 good track days on the cup Rs and a somewhat squirrelly 4th. The Rs are very good track tires but at $2500+ a set I'd be looking at $20,000 a season just in tires. The forgeline offset moves the tires a little bit out from the OEM. I'm going with a 275/35-19 325/30-20 and there are indeed more tire options.
Curious, does the race harness easily remove for daily driving, you just sit on them, or use for street use also? Car looks awesome & great wheels 👍
Not remove but I can put the shoulder harnesses behind the seats until I need them and because the seats don't have lap belt slots they don't get in the way of the 3 pts.
How do you like the apsis splitter? How was the install?
The splitter is a quality piece that fits like it's OEM. The hardest part of the install is getting all the undercarriage panels off to get to the fasteners for the splitter.

how much lighter are they? Plus the tires are probably cheaper on smaller wheels and more sidewall will provide a smoother ride.

I don't know the weight differential and didn't buy Forgelines lightest wheel because I wanted a simple 5 spoke. In the new size tires there are several 180-200 wear options which I like for DE as they have decent grip and better wear that the R tires. Plus at $800 less for a set of 4 I'll have paid for the wheels before summer.

is there a step by step install video or some such or is it obvious once you get under the car? I have this job planned for when the weather gets nice but all I have are race ramps to get the car up a bit.

It's a matter of taking off the under panels to expose all the fasteners that hold the factory piece on. If memory serves me the fasteners for the OEM piece that the splitter replaced are 7mm. I had to go out and get a 7mm ratcheted box wrench to get some of the fasteners because the space was too tight to accommodate my little 1/4" socket wrench. Make sure when you put all the cladding back you do it in the reverse order you took them off.

Sounds easy enough. If you don't mind, which wrench did you purchase? I'd like to make the job as easy of possible before I get under the car
I'm a member at Thompson and weather permitting that's good for 25-30 days. Reciprocal with Lime Rock so at least a few days there last yr I did 6 days at Palmer and I do a 2 day event at Watkins Glen every yr.
Forgeline CF1 in satin graphite 19X10; 20X12 rear with offsets that move the tires fractionally more outboard. Nanking CR-S v2 275/35-19; 325/30-20, 200 wear, heat cycled from Phil's tires. With 5 spokes I can actually see the brake pads which will make things easier.
I am now completely ready for opening day at home track 4/11.
