Two of the Houston area Corvette clubs are having a track day at MSR Houston on the 18th. I picked up a Bel helmet on Friday. What would be good to wear for the track day? No blue jeans please as they can rub off onto the seat.
I normally wear a dress shirt with chinos when I venture outside the house.
If it matters, my Z07 won't be deliverd in time so I will be in my 2023 Z51 Stingray.
Long sleeve cotton shirt, long cotton-based pants, cotton socks, and leather or cotton canvas shoes. Thinner (soles) the shoes the better so you can feel the pedals, round heel preferred.

I think driving shoes look weird with shorts. Just sayin.
I was a long time racer and would never do performance events without racing shoes, sneakers are no substitute. I don't give a crap if I look weird in my racing shoes (generally don't anyway - haha) as my AO C8Z is pretty enough for both of us, but would not be happy if, going from the gas to the brake, I caught the sole of my sneakers on the underside of the brake pedal and went off the track. Racing shoes are the proper gear for performance events.
As far as everything else, I always wear racing gloves, because - gear. Otherwise I have done everything from full race suit, HANS, wrist straps down to cotton based shorts and a short sleeve shirt if the event allows. When it is 98* sat 5 AM in the morning, you are not looking to wear a full race suit.
Shorts and t-shirt, driving gloves, driving shoes, and the appropriate helmet for the track. The gloves to handle sweat, the shoes to make it easier to feel through the pedals. Fire-retardant clothing is so not necessary in street cars on the track as the chance of a car-b-que is hysterically low. Of course it could happen, and the Google ninjas are all going to go find examples right now to try and prove me wrong. But the simple fact is the chance of it happening are basically zero. Don't sweat your ***** off (literally in some climates) if you don't have to.
No synthetics. Although the chance of fire is low, synthetics melt to your skin. Well unless those synthetics are flame resistant material(nomex, etc.).
I would only wear shorts if they are long enough that your skin does not touch the leather. I may be biased by living somewhere that the seats will get as hot as the surface of the sun in about 4-6 months of the year. A hat to wear off the track may be a good idea. If you are bald to protect your head from burning. If you have plenty of hair because wearing a helmet on track will cause you to have a bad hair day.
