One thing to be aware of is there was a TSB on the 2023 cars for a front cover that leaks oil at a RTV joint. It's an engine out repair, the possibility of that alone would push me to a 24. Plus YOU get to break in the new one carefully and correctly, a used car may be a crap shoot as to whether or not the owner had any discipline.
I wouldn't buy used unless the price was significantly below new...the break-in period is so important and buying new you can get exactly what you want. Maybe if you could get a used one with less than 10k miles for $20-$30k under sticker I'd consider it, but otherwise I'd buy new.

Based on prices of used 23s and new 24 Z06s it seems to make sense to me to buy new rather than used. Thoughts?
you need to do what is right for you.
I bought a used amg gt 63s in 2020 because it was a steep discount before the crazy covid market pricing, I would probably buy new today if I was to purchase another

Agree. And anyone who bought a “used” one with 5-6 miles on it, likely paid at or close to MSRP, lost out on the Corvette “speed model”, and a trip to Spring Mountain. Considering Z06’s can be had for MSRP, I’m not sure what the benefit is…and if your financing, you’ll miss out on “new” car interest rates (though most CU’s still consider them new). The only VERY small benefit is avoiding the ridiculous Google infotainment OS.

Bought my 12/23 when waitlists were long and ADMs high. Was actually more car than I planned to build. Under MSRP. Got the Speed Model and can go to SM a couple of times with what $ I saved. No finance involved and I got it sooner than later which to me has value. And a big benefit for me buying Preowned from a private party. NO tax in Nevada if you by from a private party. That alone saved $10k
Be careful on the warranty if you're looking used on a C8Z. There is not a whole lot anyone can do to avoid having the warranty blocked if the original buyer sells or transfers ownership within 6 months of the original vehicle in-service date.
Curious to see what happens to pricing to the 2025s.
I am still sitting on the bench as I think we are now at market saturation for the Z06 and the ZR1 may help push that even lower. My gut (maybe I am a dreamer) tell me we are going to see NEW for WAY under MSRP by the end of this year and into next.
Having said that, I want a NEW one; not a used one.
To add to the discussion: I purchased my '23 Z06 used with 42 miles on BaT. I did get to do the proper break in, below MSRP (with auction fees) and so far, couldn't be happier!
I'd prefer new unless the price difference was >$10k price assuming very low miles on a used car and desired spec. If financing, check rate differences as that may prompt you needing to see a bigger gap on price between new vs used. Generally I'm not a fan of getting a first year model car (yes I know C8 has been out since 2020) given usual teething pains. I hear folks complain about '24 infotainment vs '23 and prior but I don't know any better and everything works just fine.

That TSB came out in April, so later ‘23’s shouldn’t have that issue, but no way to know where the cutoff is. Your second point is a good one, especially with this car.

Agree. MSRP isn't too hard to find and used aren't selling at enough of a discount yet.
.
I like the 2023 NAV/radio set up better than the 2024, but it wouldn't be a major factor in my choice.

I bought my 23 preowned in a private sale from a forum member back in Feb of this year. I got tired of waiting for an allocation and this car showed up on this forum. It was already broken in and based on conversations with the prior owner and after meeting him in person, I had no doubts it was done correctly. My car also saw some track time at Sebring. Not a deal breaker as the track time was done after 1500 miles. I had been waiting for a 3LZ coupe without Z07 and base splitter in red mist. With options it had an MSRP of ~$135K. This car I bought is a 2LZ with Z07 and carbon flash aero. It is red mist with black/red (colour override) interior with comp seats.
I paid sticker even though it was preowned. At the time finding a Z07 equipped car new or used without a markup was near impossible. I ended up with more car than I had originally had a build order in for and I'm happy that I backed out on the 24. Now having the Z07 and aero package, I would have been disappointed with the original build. I bought the with 2900 miles on it. The previous owner installed new tires (PS4) and had the oil changed and the trans serviced the week I picked it up. I have the balance of the factory warranty intact and have no regrets with my purchase. I currently have 3400 miles on it and so far there have been no issues under my ownership and per the service records, no issues while with the original owner.
The one thing I did miss out on by buying preowned was not being able to go to Spring Mountain. I can always pay my own way if I want to go. The only other options I would have liked to have is the red intake and black exhaust tips. Again, items I can acquire if I really want them. This is my second Z06 (third if count the C6 427 conv. as a pseudo Z06). I no longer have the 427 but I still have my C7 Z06.
