So I think I found a software bug. Was checking the oil in new C8 z06 which is too high by at least half a quart as it goes past that upper bump in the dip stick. Engine was running and key fob in my pocket. After checking, I reached through the open window across the steering wheel, pushed the button to turn the car off. It shut down the engine and then proceeded to beep at me that the oil pressure went to zero which happens when the engine isn't running. At that, I got in the car restarted the engine and the alert went away.
It's because the key went missing when it shut off. Mine has all kinds of software bugs. My electric parking brake releases 75% of the time when the button is pushed, 20% of the time when it's put into gear (after the button failed to release it) and 5% of the time when a load is put against the brake when neither of those would release it. My frunk power pull down and release is a mixed bag too. There's a bunch of glitchy stuff going on in a 2024 that didn't exist in my 2020 SR.
LOL. Just had to watch a video to find the parking brake button; didn't know there was one and thought it must be an automatic feature. What a horrible place for it. Wow! Extremely used to C7, so all my muscle memory is way off. I have to think for a couple of seconds just to put it in park.
I certainly started with several bugs and eventually resorted to disconnecting the negative cable on the battery for about 2 hours. After doing so, 99% of the glitches went away. That said, my memory seats continually need to be reset/rememorized every couple of weeks or so. I too, like @Phil1098 did NOT have these issues on my 2021 SR! Not sure what's going on with the 2024's???
