The last 2 times I have hit the gas hard the car has cut the power pretty bad for what seemed like a second then started to accelerate again.
Am I in the wrong mode or something?
What C8 you have? ( I see now this is in the Z06 forum.. so I am now assuming you have a Z06 ) Same issues.. just with the Z06 engine it might be worse on it in stop and go traffic )
Do you run some fuel additive once in a while to clean the injectors? Driving in slow traffic is not good for a performance engine and it fuel system. I run STP fuel cleaner every other tank full.
I've had this happen to me when hard accelerating. Especially on wet roads. Your wheels are spinning and traction control is shutting you down. If you really want to avoid the shut down, turn off traction control or set up the TCM in Z mode to sport mode so you can avoid this. Obviously there is a time and a place for this type of "play". Definitely not in a busy traffic area. Good luck and be careful
TC kicking in.
Try putting it in Sport Mode and tapping the TC button twice to put you in ESC Competitive Mode, this will give you more allowance for wheelspin, but keep some nannies on in case you get too out of control.
Either that or put it in Z mode and set the TC settings to Race 1 or Race 2 , but keep in mind, if you get out of control you are on your own.
Traction control. I've found it to be too intrusive as well. Reminds me of my 4th Gen F-Body with the pedal pushing back. My '17 ZL1 had better traction control than my C8Z which makes no sense. My ZL1 would let me keep foot planted and adjust as needed. With drive by wire there's no need to push the pedal towards the driver like in drive by cable cars.
Also, in areas where I know traction control kicks in I've turned traction off beforehand just to see if the car would lose traction and it doesn't which is annoying. Typically happens in manual shifting. In auto mode it'll upshift early instead of traction control kicking in. This is my biggest gripe with the car.
I have had this happen to me when entering on highway ramp at high acceleration while in tour mode. Thought I was going to eat the steering wheel. I didn't feel any traction control issues at the time, but it was very strange. It almost reminded of when I first got my c7z m7 and I was shifting gears and the motor would shut itself down if I didn't change to the next gear fast enough during high speed acceleratoin to prevent me from blowing the motor.
i had the car in Sport mode. The wife and made a stop and I forgot it would start back up in Tour mode and this is when it happened.
