I am taking delivery of my Z06 next week at the museum and will trailer it home in my enclosed trailer. I am having paint correction, PPF and ceramic coating. My question is how much PPF to do?
with the track pack they include
Bumpers, fenders, hood, Mirror caps and lower rocker panels. I was going to add doors. This will be almost $4k for double, they do the whole car. Seems like it might be a waste to do the whole thing. What do you think?
I don't have a Z but do have a SR for what its worth.
I did the full front plus doors and rockers. I just did my one-year check-up: zero damage on the car and film is in good condition. I'm going to be honest, even with PPF I was expecting something. There are some really careless people on the road not to mention what mother nature does. Almost 6k miles since I put the film on and still counting.

I am also putting on the extended rock guards by ACS which I think will help as well.

I was originally going to do full ppf on my car only because I was going to do stealth ppf, but decided to do clear and did exactly what you did. Track pack plus the doors since they have that pointy edge on them and to assist with any door ding I may get. The only thing I wish I would have ppf'd is my high wing spoiler. It got a tiny nick on it on the highway like 2 days after driving. LOL.
Also highly recommend that you ceramic coat the whole car and the wheels. Will make everything nice and easy.

If money is not an issue do the entire car. I have found it makes life so much easier to be able to get a cloth and apply product on bugs marks etc. Also NEVER HAVE TO WAX.
I have done this on every type of car and my life is so much easier.

I did the track package on my E-Ray, their package included the A-pillars, front edge of the roof, and rear bumper area too. I’m completely satisfied how it came out. The shop said most Z06 owners here go with PPF for the whole car.
I've done it 2x waste of money and takes the enjoyment out of polishing the car which is therapy for me.
Resale? Never saw or heard a penny extra for it.
As I get older I realize if you concern yourself with the trivial things like rock chips or swirls you're wasting valuable time enjoying the car and life in general. Let it go.
If you garage the car, I vote for the Track Pack that you mention plus the ACS Rock Guards - this is the route I went. You can install the Track Pack with just yourself and a helper for the hood, large front bumper piece and the rockers/long side pieces. Save a bundle with <$200 in supplies plus ~$900 for the pre-cut film. Add a little time to watch a couple of the better YouTube videos - modern, wet PPF is not hard to install.
I would do this myself not too difficult for the flat surfaces. Just precut the sheet before applying it. A good sets of silicone squeegee and some patiences.
Your driving habits or where you drive your car will determine how much paint chips you will get on the front of your car.
Avoid driving too much on the hwy/freeway. Stay away from and don't follow: dump trucks, semi, land scapping trucks, dirty pickup trucks with dirts, etc... Don't drive in construction area.
None for me. I can't stand bug stains that won't come out. I also like to polish and wax my car, keep it looking as good as I can, and as one person said it's sort of therapeutic. I'd rather have it look good when I own it than save it for the next person.
Lots of money of something I don't want. If it make you feel more comfortable driving, than do it.
For the track I'll just throw some track wrap on.
$2,000 for me with cash discount. Diamond Detailing in Troutman, NC (near Charlotte). 5* rated on FB, 4.7* rated on Yelp.
Full front, including all aero, emblem R/R, both fenders, full hood and rockers. A pillars, windshield header and rear area will be wrapped in gloss black vinyl to create a canopy look. Film is self-healing, ceramic coated, hydrophobic and has an 5 year guarantee. Install time is 3 to 4 days, with a 10 day follow up inspection. Also installed the oversized wheel rock guards as well for a little insurance.

Full PPF plus ceramic on body and wheels. Not only so much easier to keep clean but Heaven forbid you
get caught in the rain, go fast enough and the water flies off. I gently wash mine as required then go over
the whole car with Adam's CS3 and the car shines like glass.

If you guys have ever gone to spring mountain (At a minimum) it may change your perspective on what these cars are. I was so ocd with my new vettes for a long time. It was like a switch went off when I left there.
Keep it clean use it. You get a chip? You touch it up if it's noticeable and drive it more. Those on the second hand market appreciate you keeping it in the wrapper for them though.
Btw. Not to mention the bubbles, the edges, the staining oh and the eventual gouge or tear. Been there done it including windshield protection.
The car isn't that big and in all honesty, just do the whole car. When I had my R8, I only did the front half. I regretted it because of door scratches and rock chips on rear panels. So when I got my Lambo I did the whole thing. I got my Z maybe a month ago and I'm on my PPF guys wait list. I'm doing the whole car. My wife's Cayenne I did the whole thing. My F250 I only did the front half cause its a big truck!

I've had two C8s now (23 Stingray and 24 Z06) that I've put a combined 16K miles on including numerous trips and a track weekend. On both of them I did front end plus lower side skirts all the way to the rear. What I've found over both of them is the critical areas are the front bumper cover and mirrors, they will get 90+% of all the impacts and bug strikes, so on my incoming ERay that's all I'm going to do. While the lower side skirts (especially in front of the rear tires) get some impacts, I think it looks worse with PPF as the film starts looking rough. I think I'd rather just put some wider splash guards on now that they are available or just deal with any potential chips in those areas (not really that noticeable since it's so low anyway).
Full body PPF and WPF on my last three exotics (458, 488 & F8). As mentioned above, it doesn't add value, but it potentially negates the loss value associated with paint and windshield dings. It's also much easier to keep the car clean and generally provides peace of mind. I was at a car gathering two years ago when out-of-the-blue, a tree limb (~2" in diameter) fell onto my car. It hit the roof, hood, left door mirror and windshield. My PPF/WPF installer removed the damaged PPF and to my delight, the paint underneath was unharmed. So if you juxtapose the cost of PPF with repainting the hood and roof on an exotic, the answer weighs heavily in favor of full body PPF. Plus often times, a potential buyer may choose to measure the paint's thickness ..... and then comes the story. Spend the extra $, have the full body PPF'd and never look back. My $0.02, supported by my actual experience.
I've come full circle. Have front PPF on my last 5 cars, but my current DD has tons of insect stains that won't come out and my 911 has film that is discoloring. I'm afraid to remove the film so as not to risk paint damage. An occasional rock chip is no biggie. I think I'm going without film for my next one.
