I just received an official email from GM today stating that the engine bay lights were not installed from the factory as expected (I could have told them that).
They stated in the email that retrofitting my car with parts is not possible. They deposited 25,000 points into my account($250 value), and gave me a $250 visa gift card.
$500 overall seems like a good deal, but shouldnt I get the parts I actually ordered?
Mine was delivered today. Both the red intake and the engine lighting package were included on the invoice. It was explained that in order to get the red intake you also had to order the lighting, so 2 separate items.
As a follow up, I sent a nice but nasty email about this. Mary.Barra@gm.com. It got to her. It was promptly passed down to a second in line (I believe) within 24 hours and I received a response. Nice guy. They made it sound like a dealership error which kinda pissed me off. He followed up a couple times afterwards also. Excellent after the fact customer service. I did recommend that my problem was only one of the many with this second charge and thought they would like to correct this and reach out to all the others that got screwed also since it was a GM mistake, and the problem is floating around on this very public Corvette forum. They instructed the DEALERSHIP to correct this and I was issued a $100 refund for the 2nd lighting set I was billed for. I included a copy of my window sticker so they wouldn't have to go to the trouble of looking it up. I also told them I was pissed off that I had to pay ~ $90 for an owner's manual which should be a throw in with the most expensive car GM has ever built. No response to that.
