Default New question on timing

I’m sure this has been asked a bunch of times but I also think the answer may change over time so here goes…

I currently own a C7 Z06. It is my third Corvette. In early December 2024, I placed an order for a new Z06.

The order was made at a large dealership that sells a lot of Corvettes.

the salesman is telling me that nothing I have in my build is on constraint.

How long should I expect to wait?
And…
Is there somewhere I can go to check the status without pestering my sales guy?

If you have a VIN, you can check your car's status here ..... https://www.c8tracker.com/

I thought you could easily pick up a new Z06 in stock at a discount anywhere locally or anywhere in the nation and even having it shipped to you. As long as you're flexible, there should be multiple opportunities available.

no vin yet, the order was placed by the dealer in December, I received an email from Chevy to verify.
i am simply wondering what people’s recent experience has been.

additionally, the link you attached required a credit card for verification. Wasn’t comfortable with that.

I wouldn't be comfortable either. No payment required for the Tracker. Must have been a product purchase link.

I have searched around and can’t find exactly what I want. It’s a lot of money, if I’m gonna lay out this kind of cash, I want what I want.
if I have to wait, I’ll wait. Just wondering how long the wait will be.

I placed my order on 11/7/24. I have an order number (DXQW56) and another note from GM on 12/19/24 that it was accepted for production. Mine is a Z07 with nothing constrained so far. I spoke to the dealer last week and they have no further updates. Not sure if this helps, but I am getting impatient for more!

You gave @Bald Guy the same answer I gave him when he posed the same question to me. I guess he believes we can’t think for ourselves.

C8Tracker is my site, it’s 100% free. You probably clicked on a banner ad for a VIN report that shows up on the site from time to time. That is a different site and unrelated.

Ordered 8/1/24; delivered 11/1/24, so 3 months. Non Z07, 3LZ, CF wheels, CC brakes, lift, etc.

By phone
  • Call the Chevrolet Corvette Concierge at (866) 424-3892
  • Here are a few of the codes to follow your order:
1100-Order placed at dealer1101-Order accepted by GM

    2001-Order generated to dealer

2005-Order replaced with GM Prospec order

    2050-Order changed

    2500-Order sent to production, preferenced

    3000-Order accepted by production control

3100-Order available to sequence (now the tpw becomes more stable)

3300-Order selected for production by assembly plant

    3400-Order broadcasted for production

    3800-Vehicle produced

    4150-Vehicled invoiced to dealer

    4200-Vehicle shipped

    5000-Vehicle delivered to dealer

    6000-Vehicle delivered to customer
Order will be between 3000-3400 for the longest period (up to 5 weeks). Once it goes to 3400, I believe you can get the VIN (last 4 digits) from your dealer or Corvette Museum. Then you can track your VIN with the c8 tracker and see when it's built or how many they are building per day and do the math. Once built, it still has to clear a few obstacles like quality and shipping, but usually it is only a few weeks after its built to ship to your dealer. Mine was ordered in Oct 2023 and received in April 2024 (5 1/2 months), but that was a long time ago and barring any issues, I would guess 2/3 months.

What do you have on your build that warranted a custom order? ( Just out of curiosity ).
