Default Intake screen protector?

How many of you purchased an intake screen protector from China? I did and it is a bitch to install. Their instructions suck from Amazon too. No audio and very ambiguous
It is a one-hand install. Two hookups but not easy with one hand.
Question? Do you need one? I found out today while driving slowly on a newly chipped sealed road. I ended up with lots of small rocks inside my intake. You'd think GM would install a screen protector
or maybe it does not need one?

Scrape armour seems to have the best in fit, looks and function (performance). They are also the most expensive, but seemed to be worth the price. I have them on the front of the car (ordered from GM and installed at dealer) and have a pre-order (since early December) on the side intakes. I have seen radiators in the front without and they have all taken quite a bit of damage to them. The side intakes get some small rocks, but I assume pick up leaves and debris we won't see until the air intake filter is cleaned which is why I ordered them.

Install the front rock guards like the ones from ACS and you will eliminate 95% of those rocks. It also takes about 10 minutes to install them.

I actually just posted my install here.

There's minimal instructions though... But it is US made from CustomCarGrills, and I find the fitment really good. The front grill install especially went way better than I expected and it looks OEM (same hex mesh as OEM) too with no zip ties showing. The side intakes are held in by clamping into the sides and if you wanted to get creative, you could add a bracket and zip tie it.

I was not able to find anything other than the China product for my Z06 and yes it was not an easy install. I found one side fit better than the other. The fitment is about a 6.

Well, after 10 times trying to figure out how those screens should go in I watched another video showing an easier way to install which included to bend the screen and tuck it between the rubber edge. It was simple in 10 mins each.

I installed the front radiator grill guards and the side radiator guards from RGS and have no complaints.

The install was easy and the ABS plastic guards created a more blacked out look on my Z06.
