2023 is the first year they removed the emergency lock cylinder on all C8s. Pretty sure they have figured out you can remove the wheel liner on the passenger side and snake around to get it open without cutting a hole in the lid.
Run your own safety wire from the inside trunk pull to the right rear corner of the trunk deck lid that you can fish out with a simple pull tool. That was posted on this forum back in early 2023?
Thanks for the replies. I've seen the solutions people have posted in the forums. I just wasn't sure if GM fixed the issue on its own. I had a 2023 Stingray and I'm thinking about getting a Z06.
The Home fix is much more convenient for the customer, given how GM cheap'd out on the cylinder lock. My C6z had that trunk solenoid fail and using the key was just a minor inconvenience. GM doesn't care how much they inconvenience their customers.
GM has issued new guidance to dealers on how to access the trunk in the event the solenoid fails that no longer call for drilling a hole. There were two difference approaches provide. I don't remember the specifics, but neither required damaging the vehicle. That hole drilling thing was apparently meant for a very specific failure, and GM later said it should never have gone out as a TSB.
