Howdy - I've always been a coup guy myself until the HTC came along and I absolutely love it!
I did have one issue that was quickly resolved but it was an issue nonetheless - One day when I attempted to Close the top, it would not align properly so it could not lock in place - It was still completely covered, just not locked so I had to drive very slow. I took it to the dealer who immediate was aware of the issue. Apparently this is a "thing" for some of these cars and was able to fix the next day and haven't had a problem since. Keep in mind this is a 2024 C8Z06 so perhaps they mitigated the issue but thought I would be transparent.
Lastly, knowing what I know now, would I still get the HTC? Absolutely - Never going back to a coup again - Its just awesome in so many ways! Hope this helps.
My 2021 HTC with 29K miles has been perfect. If the temp's above about 50F and sunny, or above 60F and not raining, I put the top down when I start a drive and back up when I park. Many days it's up and down 3, 4 or more times a day. And it's my daily driver. No rattles, perfectly smooth in operation. With the top up or down, I think it's quieter than the coupe. In the coupe I can hear some injector noise with the top on. Don't hear it at all in the HTC. With the top down/off , the coupe has more noise and buffeting than the HTC. Oh, if you lower the rear window, even with the top up, you can hear the exhaust better in the HTC.
And you didn't ask, but the HTC doesn't lose any trunk space with the top down. When you store the targa in the trunk of the coupe, you lose most of that space.
There have been some problems reported on the forums, but I don't think they're as common as the posts might make you think. The more common one: there's a steel cable on either side of the tonneau that causes the little ears that flip out when the top is down, and hide away when the top is up, have come apart where they're swaged on some cars. When it breaks the ear(s) doesn't retract so you can close the top. The fix is to replace the cable. The temp fix is to tie the ear back with a zip tie. I carry a couple in the frunk, just in case, but haven't ever needed them.
A much less common issue: a few cars have had either a misaligned latching mechanism or sensor in the windshield header that prevents the top from being latched properly, or the car thinking it's not latched properly. This is an easy fix once you pop off the cover on the header. And it seems to be very rare.
Oh, after you check your oil make sure the rubber flap that covers the dipstick / filler opening is tightly closed. It can interfere with the top sensor if it's left open.
I wouldn't buy another C8 that wasn't an HTC, except maybe a ZR-1 with the split rear window. If I could afford a ZR-1.

I'm a coupe type of guy but everyone that has a HTC - I have heard good feedback in regards to. Don't forget that the hardtop also comes off on the coupe version just in case you decide that way. Either way, you should come out a winner and you should have an enjoyable experience.
Good luck with the decision and don't forget to share pictures.

I'm also a coupe guy with 3 others, never ever would consider a convertible. A friend talked me into ordering a HTC after explaining the increased storage and the lines of the car are not compromised. Now 1800 miles later and the top goes down 80% of the drive time I am so impressed with it all. Put the windows up at night with some heat on and the wind is minimal in the cockpit. My friend was right on !
Only issue I have with my HTC is visibility. You can mitigate the issue but still tough when you need to make quick glances. Like others said, it’s well worth it. My top is down too for the vast majority of milage on the car.
I am looking at a 2025 Z06 Convertible and am wondering if there is anything I should concern myself with.
Smoothness
Noise
Rattles
Long term reliability
Anything else I can't think of.
I have owned only coupes with my latest being a C7 Z07
Should I be concerned???
The C8 Hard Top Convertible is hands down the best convertible I’ve owned. It is smooth, fast and secure. It really is the best of both worlds, and the addition of the rear window control with the top up is one of my favorite features. Being able to put your top up and down while moving (up to 30 mph) is incredible. Getting a HTC is a simple equation; if you take the top off with regularity (or plan to) get a convertible. If you rarely (if ever) took your coupe top off, than you are adding unnecessary weight and expense. Above 60F, I have my top down 90% of the time. I love it.
Three years going with an HTC. No rattles, squeaks etc. Had a cable break. Repaired under warranty. Only negative is, with my body proportions, I can’t fit with a helmet on whereas I can in a coupe. Not important since I don’t track the car.
Another HTC positive point that I've seldom heard mentioned is the ability to micro-manage interior airflow via the back window. Various combinations of positions among the 3 windows allows for all sorts of airflow situations. We often have the side windows closed while the rear window is down. Very useful option.
We're on our second C8 HTC. The first was a very early 2020 and the current one (just sold) was a 2024 Z06 HTC. We've owned new Corvettes since the late 1960's. I would NOT EVER conside anything but a HTC.
By the way, our 2024 is being AIR FREIGHTED to Sweden where it was purchased by an anomonous collector. He used a broker and paid a substantial premium, in my opinion, because it was the EXACT car he wanted. The money was in our bank within 2 days and the car was picked up by a freight forwarder right after that. The broker said he thought it would be the first Z06 HTC in Sweden.... maybe in all of Scandanavia. The sad part for me was he said he didn't think the car would ever be driven on the road again....

This made me chuckle. Some guy bought your used car and put it in his collection? Dude paid a premium for seats with American farts in them.
We're on our second HTC (bought originally for the headroom) and no issues. The convenience of just pressing a button and driving with the roof down is fantastic. It operates smoothly, and I have no issues or regrets.
THE only concern you should have is.... how to you keep that BIG SILLY SMILE off your face.... All our C8's have been HTC's including our 2024 Z06. Absolutely NO ISSUES at all.....
