2025 C8 Z06/7/E-Ray of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
I can only speak for the base Stingray with no Z51 vs. the Stingray with Z51 vs. the Z06 with no Z07.
The base Stingray with no Z51 probably has the best ride out of the three that I have experience with. We have a Suburban High Country in the household, and it has the MagneRide, and we used to have a Suburban LS without the MagneRide. I can't tell a significant difference, and maybe a bit firmer ride on the High Country because it has bigger wheels and skinnier tires.
Sometimes tires, wheels, tire pressure and condition, and alignment - all can have a contributing factor on the ride quality as well.
I don't think the ride is as harsh as in my previous cars. '24 Nissan Z Nismo, '23 Civic Type R, '10 RX8 R3, '06 Evo IX MR - which all had a more firm and track-oriented suspension feel.
If the roads are smooth you won't notice a difference. If you drive on **** roads? You'll notice the rigidity and stiffness of the Z06 vs a C8 stingray.
My E-Ray is like a cadillac vs my C8Z and that was non Z07.
My E-Ray, with all seasons on it, rides softer than the C8 Z51 i rented before i got my C8Z.
Having said that? My C8Z rode way better than my C7Zs.
But over time you get used to whatever you have. You only notice the difference when you hop into a different version
How much more firm is the ride in a 25 Z06 with the Z07 trac pack than say a C8 Stingray with mag ride?
I had a ‘22 Z51 w/ mag ride, and now own a Z06 (no Z07 package). I think both, equipped with mag ride, were near equal in comfort and ride. The Z06 in tour is quite pleasant. In Sport or Track mode it definitely tightens up and REALLY wakes up. I wouldn’t quantify a percentage “more firm” because that is only one piece of the puzzle. Overall, the Z06 just “handles” better in a way I can’t articulate and I’m sure some journalist has at some point.
If you’re worried about comfort, don’t be.
If you’re worried about justifying the difference, don’t be.
It really has an incredible “Jeckyl and Hyde” personality.
