I am happy to report that the 25Z purchased, to
replace the 24Z GM purchased back, has been trouble free. I don't even hear the slightest of a tick from the cam caps.
Really pleased and thankful to GM for standing tall and taking care of this customer.
600 miles. Went from 2lz to 3lz. Otherwise everything is the same.
Could you detail the experience you had timing wise? What did GM reply with and you said you got upgrades from 2LZ to 3LZ. Did you just add the difference to the loan? What happened to your old loan? Assuming they just reassigned the new vehicle but info would be helpful. I am Day 20 in on Service, replacing camshafts (not caps), and parts just arriving. Have a feeling I will be doing the lemon soon too and I would want replacement not refund.

i paid cash for both cars. The market has softened so I took the refund from the 24z 2lz, upgraded to a 25z with 3lz and come out money ahead. Original car was $5k over. Tx inventory tax etc and new one, ordered was $7k under msrp I did ditch the red calipers as you could not appreciate them, for the price, with the black spider wheels. I like the black calipers better.
Glad it worked out. Always good to pocket some money for ones troubles.

i work at a fortune 50 with an army of attorneys whom I work with daily. I felt confident in approaching GM directly with lemon claim rather than engaging a lemon law attorney. After we reached a deal and signed it, I dropped off car at dealer and picked up refund check.
its a long process…figure a few months. Also be aware in some states that the timeframe under repair is different. In my state it was 30 BUSINESS days, not calendar days. Saturday counts if the service area is open.

Georgia is 30 total days, holidays and weekends included if the car is there during those timeframes and not fixed, so I am at Day 21 tomorrow. 9 to go.
