The new ride is finally in sight. PPF is first on the list. I don't feel that doing the entire car is necessary. I did the nose, up to the hood and around the brake ducts on my 2016 and it was fine. I take that back, I should have done the mirrors. Anyway, what bits are most people covering on the C8? Thanks
Everyone will have a different opinion - so here is what I did:
Front Clip
Headlights (if you crack one it's nearly $2K for the part)
Lower rockers and side skirt
Inside door sills (noticed on my previous C8 would always get scratched by service tech or passengers)
2025 C8 Z06/7/E-Ray of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
Shop around and find someone very reputable and who has been referred to you by other car enthusiast customers who have had a fantastic experience. Maybe do the high impact areas only so that it's not too astronomical on the job or the cost.
That's good on you for referring back to your previous experience and covering those areas that you see that are commonly affected and prone to scratches.

This is a great list to start. My kit also included small pieces for right behind each rear wheel, extending upwards along the wheel arch up to the seam. I put it all on before 700 miles. There's some fingerprints, a few minor stretch marks, but the paint underneath is pristine. The kit also had the A-pillars and the small strip on the leading end of the roof. I have some bulk pieces so will use one for the rest of the roof
Most installers call it a track package or something to the effect. But basically it is the whole front, lower rockers/side all the way to the back, side skirt, door sills, mirrors, and A pillars with strip above the windshield. Basically this package is usually one down from the whole car. Overall, in most parts of the US this cost between 2.5K to 4K(most in that 3.5K area. Very common price for all this and full ceramic coating on the car is about 4.5K to 5K. If someone is doing it for less than 2K I'd do a lot more work on seeing some jobs they have done as that price would be almost to good to be true in most parts of the US. Chances are that would be a very green start up. But if they are good, they are good, maybe they can cut you a deal and they can use your car for promotional photos or whatever in return for a good discount doing your PPF. But most established shops are going to be more in that 3k to 4K area today.
I'd ask your installer if they have done other C8's, most have. All the top film companies make very good film and very little difference from one to the other. Sometimes the differences is more on the install side than the finish product looks or durability. In other words the installer is the key when shopping for PPF. Ask if they tuck edges in all areas they can and do they stand behind there install if an issue arises. If your in bigger city you maybe able to stop by and actually see the work on C8 they have done or are in the process of doing.

This is exactly what i did. I kind of wish I did the whole car because it's nice not to worry about swirl marks on the paint but the cost difference between track and the full car is real substantial and I think the track package coverage is just about right. Definitely see if you can check out their work from a recent car. I had to go to two places before finding another rhat I would trust. Also, check that they're writing down that they would remove and reinstall badges. The place i had my work done did the hood emblem but then cut the ppf around the z06 badges in front of the rear tires. I thankfully had the work order and they accepted that they had to redo that area on both sides and install new badges since they had written that they would. When you get the car back, look at it very carefully - every inch that was covered - under good lighting and be sure that things were done well and not rushed. A good shop will be willing to correct any installation errors or hopefully won't make any.
That is what I did except for I opted to do the whole door. Figured it may help reduce dings. It was just a few hundred dollars more to include the doors.
I did PPF with my 2024 C8 Z06. I covered the whole front (bumper, hood, fenders, spoiler), lower body sides, rockers, and lower/mid level rear, side mirrors, and top front of roof. Later had the side carbon flash wishbones converted with carbon fiber looking film - came out great and didn’t cost much. Cost around $2,450, with great phenomenal attention/quality. Overall quality and vendors desire to fix errors is terrific - not easy to find as I’ve done a number of cars, i.e. Corvette C7 2016 Z06, 2019 Shelby GT350 Mustang. If you live anywhere near Springfield, MA, and a reference would be useful, drop me a note.
