My 2024 Z06 just gave me a notice that an over the air update is available for the very first time since I bought it in October 2024 (but did have a wired update at the dealer a few months ago). Has anyone else gotten notice of this update?
This will probably sound silly but I'm sort of inclined to not ever let it install because the car has been perfect since the hard update that was done at the dealer.
My 2024 Z06 is 13 months old and a few days ago got that message. I had parked and was 100 miles from home, declined it. When I got home I stayed in the car and let it download. It said it was going to take about 15 minutes, took about 10, and when it was finished I got a big green check mark on screen and update successful message. Went without a hitch, I also can't tell anything was done either. Pretty weird when it's doing it, there are sounds that come out of behind the gauge cluster that sound like an small electric motor starting and stopping. BTW, it was the first update since new.

Thank you! My main concern was the update actually making things take a step back so the fact there was no discernible change actually sounds good to me. Does the motor need to be running during the update?

I have a 2024 Z06, built in April, and this was my first software update as well. I also have had an issue free experience so was a bit hesitant as well. I did some digging before letting it install. I couldn’t find much info about it, and after the update I didn’t notice any changes, so not entirely sure what it updated. Like other reports, it went fast, said it would take 15 minutes but it was more like 10 minutes from start to finish.

Right! I figured GM would have a listing somewheee describing what the update would change but no such luck it seems. But thank you! Comforting to hear two responses here that the update didn't cause any problems.
I did the update. Funny thing, the ONLY thing I ever had an issue with was that the car wouldn't always deselect the parking brake when I pushed the button. It would 100% of the time deselect the parking brake after I pushed the button and then put it in drive or reverse so not that big of a deal. Now, after the update the button works 100% of the time so far.

Really??? That's good news to hear. I named my car Sybil because my EPB would release three different ways and has never released with the button push only every time like my 2020 did. WOOHOOO can't wait to try it.

It is something I absolutely noticed because the parking brake was so finicky. Like I said, it ALWAYS released if I pushed the button and then went into drive or reverse.......sometimes it would work just by pushing the button on it's own, but that was probably 50% of the time. After the update suddenly it always works by just pushing the button........
Same with me 2024 and was first over the air update, the parking brake now works as it should. I did notice the radio staying on when i leave the car. Bmw's are famous for this issue also

Well, while my update was a success, it didn't change anything with my schizophrenic parking brake. The brake didn't release with the button push every time yesterday. No resolution for me.
I never noticed what some mentioned here with the parking brake. I suppose the good news is there's no discernible changes for better or for worse after the update.
Just downloaded it (instruction from Onstar is after selecting “install” on the info screen, turn car and power off - Not accessories on). Took under 10 minutes. Screen continues to show progress, then turns itself off when done. Google says: The over-the-air (OTA) update for the 2024 C8 Z06 is designed to provide software improvements and optimize the vehicle for future updates. These updates can also include improvements to the ECU and other modules. While some updates can be done remotely, others may require a dealer visit, such as a recent update that addresses issues with the BCMsoftware preventing OTA updates from fully installing.

I also have a 2024 ZO6(built on June 18,2024) I updated the OTA update monday morning 9th, I too am curious as to what all all was in this update???
I went to the dealer yesterday to have a recall update done to the ECU (2024 Z06). Today when I started the car, I got a check engine light with several codes. After I got over being royally pissed (the dealer is an hour away and could get no one on the phone in service), I got a notice of an OTA update. I loaded the update. The update message said failure to load, yet the check engine light is no longer on and a search for updates on the settings menu showed none pending. WTF?
The more complex a car is, the more stuff to break.

Last thursday June 5, My radio was staying on after shutting the car off & exiting the vehicle. I mad sure my car was connected to my network, in which the router is close to the car, afterwards it told me that update would take about 15m, it took less then 10m. All good now
I have done several over the aor updates on my 24. Never had any problem with them. I did get the notice that my car needed to go to the dealer for an update about two months ago, but I haven’t done it yet. Did the last over the air about three days ago. Alls well
