Default Z06x

Wouldn’t the Z06x be awesome?? I hope they build it, still over 800 HP and AWD. I want one. Bet it’s a 2.2 0-60.

It would be a lot better if the Z06x didn't have a hybrid motor and instead they put it on a diet. Make it a track focused package beyond the Z07. That's a pipe dream.

I dont think they would build it because with AWD it would out sprint the ZR1.

Please, no more Corvettes, it's mind-boggling because not all of us can go to the store and simply pick one up.

Roflmao.

Maybe they will eventually make a ZORA, and it will be a Z06 with ZTK, with 300 less pounds with proper seats and harnesses for the track like Zora would have actually wanted.

I agree too many variations…time to move on to C9. I don’t think the “new fangled electric technology” is for a good portion of the Vette crowd either.

ZR1 and now ZR1X. I'm not sure who will buy a $150k+ Z06 when those other models are available. I can see a case for the base Corvette or the high performance models, but it leaves the Z06 in a no man's land of value.

Put another LT7 in the frunk of the ZR1 and call it the ZR-BFD….2200 HP and available with the tire refresh package.

Negative. There is no better exemplar of this than the 911 range. They have models from $100K to $$300K and everywhere in between. I might buy a $130K Z06. I'm not buying a $200K ZR1.

We need to go back to the COPO system. Just give us options and let us pick and choose. You want a narrow-body LT2 with ZR1 brakes and suspension? You'll pay extra, but you can have it!

Think a lot of people would like it and it might be a good option for some. I'm not interested in 0-60 times nor putting another couple hundred pounds on the nose, so doesn't interest me personally at all.

As someone who is ready to trade in my Stingray for a Z06 in the 26-27 timeframe I would be interested in an "X" variant.

yes! something like the GT3RS, stripped interior, racing buckets, lighter glass, carbon hood and hatch. Maybe 2 to 300lb lighter for another 20 or 30k

I'd love a manual but it won't happen

Give me a 3200 LB. ZO6.
Carbon brakes, basic interior, and no fluff.

You're not getting even 150 pounds out of a C8 with that treatment. Carbon hood and hatch? It's already fiber reinforced plastic. Carbon would save literal ounces at tremendous cost.

Agreed 100%.

Brandon of Brandon's Garage who posts on here made a youtube video about his Z06 weight loss journey that I highly recommend. If I recall correctly, a majority of his weight savings were from seats, carbon rotors, magnesium wheels, lighter tires, a battery, intake, and exhaust. I'm likely missing some things. The 200-300 pounds is certainly possible but I don't know about that same 200-300 pound reduction in a production car beyond the weight savings already available from carbon wheels and CCBs - no frills carbon buckets would be a viable source of weight savings though you'd like need to forgo electronic controls and even then the air bag system and such probably will add some weight back - I also already can hear the majority of Corvette customers complaining about them being uncomfortable (like the people that option Z07 just to say they have a Z07 or for "resale value" and then also complain that the ride is stiff or that the Z06 has "no torque").

Anyway, I agree that the dream Z06 X for me would be a lightened, simplified track weapon because that is the spirit of Z06 and (to me) the personality that would best match the LT6 heart... make it GT3RS levels of focused and I'd be scraping for pennies to be a able to afford it. In other words, take away the compromises that make the Z06 appeal to so many and make it appeal to a specific group of people that would really eat that type of vehicle up.

I think adding the e motor to a Z06 is probably what the masses would want (hence what GM would target) because it would address what so many here call a torque deficiency, but really all that is happening is weight being added so people can brag about their 0 to 60 and quarter mile times. Sure, the electric motor will help with speed out of corners but the thing is fast enough to begin with and the E Ray and ZR1 variants exist now and do the straight line trick similarly (E Ray) or better (ZR1). Let's reduce weight and add simplicity, give the steering more feel, and really embrace what the LT6 brings in terms of emotion.

The best thing about the "X" is that it may make the ZR1 more attainable.
