Default Front latch message

While driving I had an alert that said something like “Front latch” and it wanted me to slow down to below 26 mph. I stopped and checked the frunk and it was closed. I opened it and closed it. I thought just a one time issue. Then, yesterday it happened again. Same alert, nothing wrong with frunk.

Any advise?

Sounds like a defective latch switch. Sadly, that probably means a trip to the dealer.

Dealer could not duplicate issue. They traced issue according to GM notes. I will keep watching it.

I had the exact same issue. Message would appear and, after I pull over, disappear by itself, all while the frunk remains securely closed.

It's a serious safety hazard because of the sudden power loss IMO. Forced immediate pullover on the highway is no joke.

Although the dealer couldn't reproduce it or see any recorded error about it, the service advisor agreed with me and kindly got the latch replaced. It hasn't occurred since then.
