OBD2 Reader

Ever since dead battery I have CEL that’s not clearing on its own. I’ll try disconnecting the battery but also want to ask what’s the best value OBD2 reader to purchase for the C8 so I can clear codes?

I have an inexpensive one that works fine on my older vehicles. But it had nothing on my ER. So just be mindful that not all readers are up to snuff for the C8. In fact, my local service shop had a really good reader that he tried to read the code with--and it didn't read it either. So he had to get the SUPER DUPER reader to check what it was.

I use the Foxwell NT710 This unit supposedly does the C8 trans flush. I haven’t tried it.

I'm so irritated, the scanner sees the code, clears the code, but the CEL flickers and stays on. If I repeat the process, scanner sys there's three codes. I try to access them, and nothing pops up. But... I continue the cycle of clearing codes. Totally frustrated.

2024+ model year have the transmission flush software in the transmission controller. Previous years requires GM hardware and software to flush the transmission. I know it does not work on 2022. I owned a 2022 Stingray. Not sure about 2023 model.
