Need to replace the front pads on my steel brake-equipped 2023 Zo6.
Hate the dust produced by the OEM pads even when it's not tracked.
Any suggestions, preferably ones that don't squeal?
Thanks, Chris

i have z26 powerstops. Got from rock auto. Did all
four wheels. They work well but not a track capable
pad.
I hear some people saying in other threads that the carbotech's dont have a back plate and cause a clacking noise. Can anyone elaborate on this? Also I have read on some other posts that the stopping power is not as good as OEM pads and that its a little squishy which can be counteracted by putting the brakes in track mode on say zmode to make up the difference. Can some people elaborate on this? Also hearing they can squeak allot. Is that an installation issue because some say they dont.
I have been waying heavily on changing out the pads just to try them out with all the posts I see, but not sure the juice is worth the squeeze from the counter active posts. If you are an aggressive driver normally who also likes to got he track every now and then, what are thoughts from those people? I understand they dont work on track, but I dont want squishy brakes on the street either. What is 60 to zero and 130 to zero braking times compared to OEM?
After installing my 1521 pads, I did find I wanted a little more bite so I changed the Brake setting to Track and now they feel like OEM pads. Regarding squeaking, I have zero noise. Perhaps the people that are reporting noise didn’t use the proper GM copper paste grease (GM part number 19303310)? Here is an install procedure I put together:
1. Windows down 2. Shut off car and disconnect battery 3. Keep hood open (doors can be opened by reaching in and pulling the Emergency Handle on the floor) 4. Remove lug nuts with 22 mm socket 5. Front Calipers - Remove 13 mm bolt 6. Hammer out two pins from each front caliper 7. Remove retaining clip 8. Slide out old pads 9. Add coper paste to sides of new pads (GM Lubricant 19303310) 10. Slide in new pads 11. Reinstall retaining clip, torque bolt to 18 LBs 12. Replace pins 13. Reinstall wheel, torque lug nuts to 140 LBs 14. Rear Calipers – Same as front except no 13 mm bolt 15. PUMP brakes until firm pedal feel!!! 16. Reconnect battery 17. Reindex windows
