+1 on Blackvue 2 channel. It just takes one event for these things to pay for themselves. Popular strategy these days is for at fault drivers to ghost their own insurance company - dashcam video can substantiate their presence at the scene when their insurer tries to use their non-response as a reason to delay or deny a claim.
BlackVue DR970X-2CH Plus or whatever the latest version of that series is. I didn't get it with the built in cellular connection although that's an option. On my last Corvette I had the BlackVue + standalone cellular puck + standalone dedicated parking mode battery. On my current Vette I just put in the camera and set a time and voltage cutoff. If you go with the fancier setup with the dedicated battery you have to remember to manually turn it off when you get home.
Also a 970 here. I have the 130 battery in the glove box for parking.
I have the Cellink NEO battery. Just haven't installed it yet. Finding a place to install it securely is the problem. Will check out the glove box. In my C6 I had it installed behind the passenger seat - it kept the seat from being fully moved back so it wasn't the best choice.
Any tips on a clean wiring install? Can you get switched power up at the mirror area without a lot of trouble? How about mounting the rear and hiding wiring? Thanks!
