Default Mighty Mouse Catch Can

Hey folks, just installed the Mighty Mouse Catch Can for my 24' Z06. Install was easy, took about 10 minutes. Instructions on their website are easy to understand. I don't drive my car super hard, it's a weekend canyon carver, mostly 5/10s driving with periodic WOT runs to redline. 7k miles. When I pulled the stock PCV connection there was oil in there so in my mind a catch can is worth it. The Mighty Mouse is a really high quality piece of gear. The connections they send are much higher quality than stock. Their customer service is excellent. Initially they sent the HTC bracket, not the coupe, which I have. I sent them an email and almost immediately got a response and that same day the right bracket was in the mail. This is my first experience with Mighty Mouse and I have to say I am really happy with what they provide, both as a product as well as customer service.

Appreciate the post!

There was a question in another thread about the weight; Our standard can for this kit weighs 1.3# vs. our 2020 model which is over 1.7:

What was your oil consumption up till now?

I didn't measure my oil consumption. I just had the car serviced with a fresh oil change. I am not at all concerned about oil consumption, this is about oil vapor getting into the intake and causing carbon buildup on the intake valves, something direct injection engines are notorious for. I am not a mechanic, so someone please correct me if I am misspeaking?

You are 100% correct. The reason for this is simple. In direct injection engines, there is no fuel in the intake manifold or cylinder heads ( above the intake valves) . Engines with standard style injection, either through the throttle bodies or having injectors in the intake manifold have fuel everywhere above the intake valves. The fuel literally keeps things clean. Now, enter direct injection. Deposits of oil that enter the intake via the pcv system slowly begin to build up particularly on the intake valves. Our engines have dry sump oiling. That greatly helps keeping the pcv system free of oil. However, some will pass through. The catch can is helpful in " catching" these little droplets of oil preventing them from entering the intake. I was sitting on the fence as to which catch can to install . A video from YouTube I stumbled on, made my decision. I recently installed a CCS system. My Z has 1200 or so miles on it. There was a slight bit of oil in the stock pcv lines as well.

I have this setup . They have since dropped the price and are sending me shorter hoses that driver side mount. Pretty cool.

I am nearly certain, it was your YouTube video that prompted me to go with CCS. I did get the set-up at the new lower price.
I felt it necessary to tie the hoses up with a couple of zip ties to keep them as far away from my factory exhaust as possible. I didnt know about the shorter hoses and relocating the can. That would make this set up even better. Do you know where the can will be mounted with the shorter hoses? Will it be required to make additional holes for mounting?

I'm interested in one myself; keep us in the loop about the shorter hoses and mounting location. Does anyone know if there are fit issues for the convertible? I noticed that CCS says, "coupe only"

Edit: I see they have a convertible setup. I missed it because it said 2020+ c8 z06 convertable, 2020 took me off guard since the z06 wasnt around then.

It will mount on the driver side, no new holes and they said in the other thread they will send you the new ones just send them an email and let them know. I will let you know on here when I get them they are currently making the new brackets to relocate but should be much cleaner it seems and save some weight.
