The throttle controller is way better than a ported throttle body. Hands Down. Not even a conversation. You want the car to respond to throttle immediately and get rid of dead spots and low end lag. Get the throttle controller. You want to smooth out the throttle response and remove just a little bit of the lag. Get the throttle body. I have them both.

Throttle Controller 100%
Throttle Body 20%
As far as reliability. This is a forum. There are a few threads of some people that had and issue and the company immediately fixed the issue no questions asked. That's the kind of service I look for. Any way. Now all of sudden its threads like this trying to portray some big issue that doesn't exists. What's funny is the people in this thread doing all the squawking, are individuals that are kicking the tires sort of speak.
Its good to do your research. On the ported throttle bodies. It really doesn't matter which manufacturer you go with IMO. They are both going to give you a smoother throttle response.
Very helpful. I am new to Corvette and I am still trying to figure it all out.
1000% agree--- while I do not have a TB install on either one of my C8Z's - the TC has been a game changer with zero issues and it transferred nice and easy from my coupe to my htc. Several times Ive had to defeat the TC (service and selling the car) and wow the car just doesnt have remotely the same aggression (can you believe it!!). GM built a mushy pedal where its basically limited unless you are full bore; the TC makes the pedal so much more fluid thru the inputs.
And I agree about forum mentality and issues... people always will mention their issues but its more rare for someone to just post "Damn my car is doing just fine".
Thanks Vic for chiming in. I knew you from the BMW forums. You were always a straight shooter.
I believe that "throttle controllers" do nothing to improve performance, however they do quicken the opening of the throttle as the driver steps on the gas, which gives the feeling of improved throttle response.
A ported TB, however, can improve performance if the porting noticeably increases airflow and the engine needs or can use the additional airflow.
Thanks everyone. I started having similar issues. I have had the TC for about 2 months. I thought it was the transmission. Took my car to GM they checked all the recalls, they had to do the TCM recall. That seemed to fix it but now it is back again. I am getting the surging, like the car is trying to find a gear. Happens at low RPM, you can actually see the RPM bobbing up and down. Feel like I am riding a bucking bronco.
I called Soler today and now waiting for a call back. I am hoping they send me a replacement as well. But I feel it odd that I am not the only one experiencing this phenomenon.
I hate to go back to stock, because when it worked it was phenomenal. I bought it for a reason, but if I am going to continue to have issues I don't want it.

Thanks again for the post. This was helpful.
I hope you can find a solution. I finally uninstalled my 2nd one because it started to accelerate and the same rpm fluctuations just like my first one. I love it when it's working, but the rpm accelerating and fluctuating randomly made driving the car to unpredictable for me.
I have installed the Pedal Box by DTM and it has been flawless. it may not have eight setting(only four). I keep it on sport plus and it does the job. Never had an issue from day one.
Im sure when the Soler unit is functioning properly its the same as DTM.
Being an old I come from throttle cables and carburetors where 10% throttle pedal meant 10% throttle. I'm not sure what group of engineering geeks thought it was a good idea to set up non-linear throttle response . I lived with that for a month before I put in the soler controller and it has been flawless and now drives like every other car I've ever driven.
I have said this is a couple of other threads but I have been using Throttle Controllers in all my diesel trucks since 2014 and put one in my 26'Z06....never had a single issue, and I have put well over 230K miles on them...in all conditions...
