Default Prep for Spring Mountain

I’ll be off to Spring Mountain in June for the initial Z06 school .
Any advice on how to prep to get the most out of it?
I have some, but limited track experience.
Videos, reading,etc.

Thanks

+1 on the exercise. In my group of 18 people, I heard at least 5 of the guys complain about lower back pain at the end of the 1st day. Neck exercises help, too, as you will be wearing a helmet.

Consider talking to experienced track drivers about dialing in your track seat & steering wheel positions - they can be very different from your normal street settings.

My wife went last week and she was surprised by how physically/mentally fatiguing it is. It was her first time driving on track (she has ridden with me as a pax).

She did win her groups Autocross competition, so that helped energize her a bit.

I was there last july every day and night 100+, stay hydrated during the class sessions. Study the track before you get there so you have a good idea of the layout. Smooth driving and listen and observe your braking and turn points and you will have a fantastic time. I am debating adding a CTS-V just to do the school again since i will be getting rid of my M5.

Have Fun, amusement park for adults.

I don't typically get motion sick from normal activities - but tracking the car really got to me first day. Luckily another student had scopolamine patches. Saved my weekend. They have dramamine on property bu I found it ineffective. Good luck!

You honestly don't have to prep too much for the class, it's an intro track class for absolute beginners. In fact, I would book some stuff to at night in Vegas, like shows or good restaurants. There's not much to do in Pahrump.

Pahrump isn't far from SW Vegas. I recommend checking out Durango station casino, they got a good steak restaurant called Nicco's, and their food court is fantastic. Across the street is the Uncommons, there's a pretty good ice cream place there called Salt and Straw.

You need a good night sleep but you absolutely don't need to go to sleep at 8PM either. Checking out some good shows in Vegas, like O or Ka would be good idea too. So many other good restaurants if you have the fancy of actually heading to the strip. Make it a nice vacation and a good weekend out of it to enjoy it to its fullest.

One product that works well for me is the Gravel ginger chewables....
Quite pleasant and you can easily vary volumes depending on the day.
No affiliation.
Good luck!

I have been twice- once for Stingray and then for Z06. The instructors are incredible and you just need to listen to their feedback and apply it. Drink lots of water, be friendly and have fun!

They have Dramamine Non-Drowsy formula in the classroom and I ended up having to take 2 each day - 1 was not enough. No side effects for me and they completely knocked down the green-feeling car sickness, Ugh! Their simulators made me car sick within 8 minutes on the 1st night we got there, too.

Since you're going in June, stay extra hydrated. And pay attention in class and to the instructors. They really know their stuff. The wife and I went in July a few years ago. I had her do the class and I watched. I did my first Z06 class back in 2017. After the first day, they will separate the slow pokes from the faster drivers. I knew my wife was going to be slow, so I told them to let her bring up the rear so she wouldn't hold any of the other drivers up, and obviously she was in the slower group the following day.

I would get to Pahrump the day before your class starts so you're not driving a hour from Vegas and possibly being late. This way, you will have a good nights rest. Id watch your speed on the highway out there. You will get ticketed. There is one stretch where its like I guess 7-8 miles of straight freeway, and its really easy to start driving fast because there isnt alot of traffic.

Pahrump is kinda a dump, and there aren't really any good restaurants out there. But you could always visit the legal brothel Sheris Ranch for some fun..
