Need Torque Help!
I used AI and Copilot tells me 18# and ChatGPT tells me 33#. The two numbers are too far apart. Any help is greatly appreciated.
The torque specifications are as follows:
- Header-to-Catalytic Converter Flange Nuts: Most performance guides for the LT6 engine recommend torquing these to 35 lb-ft.
- Torque Sequence: It is highly recommended to tighten these in a progressive sequence (e.g., 15 lb-ft, then 25 lb-ft, finishing at 35 lb-ft) to ensure an even seal and prevent gasket failure.
- Notes on Fasteners: The factory nuts on the converter flange are often extremely tight and may require significant force to break loose initially.
- Heat Shields: The 8mm bolts holding the heat shielding onto the converters typically require much lower torque, generally around 18-22 lb-ft.
