Default Current pricing

Hi, new here.I was a C5 Z06 owner and sold it when the kids arrived. I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer (never smoked, ran marathons) and was given the standard 6-12 months. Not here for a pity party, but I want to get a Z06 again (or ZR1 but I can’t afford it!) and am wondering if anyone has purchased recently and what prices they are getting. I see lots of inventory out there and some places advertising a little less than 10% off MSRP. I did find one that has me interested, and it appears to have been in dealer stock since late Nov/early Dec, and the cut the price on it way back on 31 Jan of about 6%.

it seems invoice price is around 9.5% below MSRP, and with these sitting for 4 months surely has garnered more cash back from GM. Anyone have a good idea on what prices I can get. I do t want to over pay and then have my wife have to sell this thing for a huge loss in a year or so. Thank you!

Your wife would sell it for a huge loss in a year regardless of what you paid for it. Going crazy trying to save an extra 1% is a moot point.

If you read the post, I’m wondering what a good price is. I’m not haggling over 1%. I’m not going crazy. I see a few of them listed for around 10% off but I don’t know what current people are actually paying.

If you look at used prices, they don’t depreciate that fast, so a few thousand dollars is a big percentage of the loss. I talked about a 10% discount, so that covers most of the depreciation. If a 1 year old one was 30% below sticker, I’d buy that, but they are close to 2026 models, like 85-93% of MSRP depending on options. So even 1% is a huge portion of the depreciation. Like all of it or at least 25% of it. Did you read or know anything about this, or just post?

No I don’t know anything about this but here is my 2026 Z06. Best of luck.

First I am sorry to hear about your situation.
Here is the skinny…when the 2026’s were first released the general deals were 6% off MSRP for a Z06 and 8% off MSRP for a SR, this was on new orders. Fast forward to now, I feel it is easy to get at additional 2% off each (at this point you are most likely going to need to look at cars on the lot as 2026 orders are coming to an end). So anything better then 8% off an new Z06 and 10% off an SR is good, anything better then that is even better. But like you said, if you are not trying to squeeze every penny out of the deal I think the 8% Z06 and 10% SR are good numbers to start at…remember, people will through around dollar amounts but you need to look at percentage…that is the real number...
Hope this helps...

Sorry to hear about your situation but at least your fortunate enough to be able to buy a c8z! Lost my dad to throat cancer at 61 but he smoked like a chimney and drank like a fish. 10% off would be great but 6-8% is good too. You will forget what you paid once you give it the beans!

nice. How much did you pay for it vs MSRP? That’s all I’m asking.

Without replying to everyone individually, thank you for the well wishes! I’m 48 and otherwise perfectly healthy. It can happen to anyone at any age!

OK, it sounds like 8% is pretty say and 10% should be doable, especially since these have been sitting for 4 months.

If anyone has any good tips, I’m standing by!!

I got 6% off last October so I’d ask for 10%-15% to start.

My number one tip is to get to the sales manager as soon as possible and cut out the salesmen on the floor….do your homework and make reasonable offers. Like you said, it is not worth loosing out on the perfect car over a few $K….

I would add.
If you buy the Z new. Immediately call the Ron Fellows school in Vegas. They will get you in ASAP. You will have a blast! And the dry air out there will feel good. Enjoy your time.

I bought a used 2025 Z06 3LZ convertible with 1500 miles for 118 and it stickered for 145. I felt it was a good enough deal.

all depends on what you want.. way too many variables.

you could pay anywhere from 110-140 new depending on the options you want.. minus any discounts.

not all dealers will offer huge discounts either. Some are fine sitting on it for a few months because they don’t have a lot of allocations.

if I knew I was dying, I wouldn’t give a sh*t and get something with every option I want or as close to it as possible. Wish you the best.

Thank you, my original thought was just get a gently used one and let someone else take the depreciation hit, but the ones I see in my area are literally only ~4% less than a discounted new one. I haven’t seen any listed that much off or I’d probably get that, looks like you got a great deal.

I went ahead and sent out my first emails, I basically offered 14% below MSRP and hope to settle around 10-12! Thanks for everyone’s input!

MSRP was $137,955 and I paid $127,500 ($10,400 off) for a special order last year.
