Took my Z06 in for and oil change and DCT filter change and the tech noted this oil leak that’s may originate between the trans and engine.
Haven’t seen this mentioned before….rear seal? I’m gonna bring it back in about 2 weeks when I get back from a trip and the Corvette Master Mechanic is available. Figured if it sits in the garage it will not make a difference.
That appears to be a different leak than most posts. I’d of thought they would have put sone dye iin the oil to verify where it’s coming from. It’ still sucks to think the engine may need to be drooped to repair it.
This looks like engine oil and it might be from the rear main seal.
I dropped the skid plate over the winter on my 2023 Z06 and found this same area wet with oil, some of which, dropped down on to the plate leaving the plate wet as well. Please post a follow up as it is likely we have the same issue.
There have been a handful of Z06 blown rear main seals that I know of BTW.
So a new twist….I have oil on the garage floor, about 6 ounces.
The “leak” emanated from the oil filter access (on the panel) and from the sump panel area….it looks like “old oil”.
So a call to the dealership letting them know that you don’t spring an oil leak like this overnight and certainly not old oil (brownish). A sloppy oil change (this was the free service with DCT filter).
So now it will sit until I get back over cardboard. They know my expectations are high and even offered a rental (for the other leak) that will be a C8.
please let us know, I have the exact same thing that just started to happen here over the winter. coming from between trans and engine. and yes, it also does look like old oil. I did an oil change prior to me putting the car away before winter.
