All things CIOCCA mega merge
#1281
It would have been REALLY interesting to see what Ciocca would have done had they actually used a new bank account, and people sent a wire to the old account (cheating), and then sent it to the new one when they saw that the wire info had changed. Would they still disqualify them, or just use the time from the wire into the proper account? Guess we will never know

Not necessarily. Most banks didn't send the wires right away (including Chase, which I used), so sending it even a few minutes before 12:00 might have been the difference between being number 50 and number 800.

Melting Slicks
I'm staring to sound like a broken record, but what's missing from there is Ciocca''s receipt time, in their account. We just know when M&T received it. Could have (likely?) posted to their account seconds (or milliseconds later). Could have posted hours later. Could the order M&T post it to the account be slightly different from when they received it? These things we don't know. It is unlikely Ciocca will run a trace on every wire to see when it was received by M&T, they'll go by when it hit their account.

virtually ever way of cheating. Lord knows they had enough time to work on it. As I posted before, we'll all find out on Monday.

Very surprising. I would think that this would be enough of a cluster f**k without mixing the stingrays up in there. You can rest assured that the guys at Ciocca probably anticipated

I for one, am not going to fret what number I am on the list! I was on their site promptly at noon, filled out the form info and sent a picture of my license to the email requested, all in about 10 minutes of time. I then went to the bank with my completed wire transfer form and the wire form was checked and approved. I left the bank with my receipt at about 12:40. My credit union only sends the wire at 11 AM,1 PM and 3PM. So I assume it was sent at 1PM. I did everything I could to do get this done ASAP. Now like everyone else, I have to wait and see what number I am on Ciocca's Z06 list. If I am at 600 or more....I will request a refund because that would make me 2 or 3 years away. By that time who knows.....

Looking forward to hearing where I am - my allocation for a Stingray will be here in a week or 2 - have to decide that to do with that. I intended this to be my forever car. If the Z06 number is 1-2 years have to decide whether to cancel the Stingray or try to flip it. I hate the idea of flipping it…
