GM Front Radiator Grill Screens
This is not a discussion about other grill screen options. I am aware of less expensive options and have them on my Stingray.
The description for the $895 Genuine Corvette Z06 Accessory screens says----a copy & paste from the build & price page:
What does "fit behind the intake inserts in the front bumper" mean? It doesn't mean grill because I read the bumper has to be removed to install screens behind the grill on the Z06.
Please post an installed picture.
How does the "Quick-release" work?
Thanks for clarifying!

- Black, honeycomb-design protective screens that fit behind the intake inserts in the front bumper
- Helps stop road debris from entering the cooling elements, while allowing air to pass through
- Quick-release fastener allows removal for cleaning or track use

I have them and they mount from the backside of the grill that's part of the front end on the ZO6. The facia has to come off to attach them. They are NOT quick release......they are permanently mounted. Maybe the description was referring to the Stingray grills that mount from the front. Go to Scrape Armor's website and they have an install video (that's who makes them for GM).

They should be $699.99 from GM. They have to take the entire front fascia off. So stupid they don't do this at the factory.

The "quick release" is a quote from the Z06 "Build & Price" page. They really should change that in the description.

GM: "Oh you also would like a cowl for your instrument cluster? $1900 please. And seat covers to protect the foam padding on your seats? $750 per seat. And lens covers for your headlights to protect the projector lenses from road debris? $1200 each side, thank you very much."
This is an irritating and stupid omission on a $30k car, much less a 6-figure one. FIGURE IT OUT GM, jfc....

I wanted to get the SA ones! I ordered them and sent to Museum they gave them back to me! At that time they didn't want to put them on.
If, you don't track or tailgate cars. You really don't need them, I have 2800 miles on the Z and they look great!
I would still get them but don't want to remove the whole front end to install them

$900 for screens is a prime example of vette tax. Custom car grills are the same thing and they are $150

Did you even bother to read my first post?[/QUOTE]
Yup I was trying to help you not get screwed out of $650 when they are the exact same ones that CCG sells. They are not “quick release”.

Just FYI, the SA Z06 grills are now available through the Corvette Museum and can be installed as part of your PDI for Museum delivery. Just purchased mine and Shane quoted the installation charge as $300. I had tried to order them from GM with the car but they were on constraint at that time. So glad to see the Museum offer them installed for delivery now.

But these are a factory option now on 2024? I must have missed that on the configurator

The Track Preparation guide says to remove the screens if tracking at 90F or above. They don't exactly pop right in or out.
POWERTRAIN COOLING For vehicles with the optional front screen guards (VWE), remove them for track events when the ambient temperature reaches 90 degrees F (32 degrees C) or higher. See your dealer for complete procedure.
