With the ability to specifically order a Z - absolutely $10K is acceptable. For me too many Z's on dealer lots were missing key options that I must have if I'm going to spend that kind of $.
Other people's opinions will rarely meet your car AND personal needs.
Current finance rates on a 6 yr 100K car loan are about $150(ballpark) more monthly than a few years ago which from what I read is taking some out of this game.
Should you be buying a toy in this price range if 150 bucks is a deal breaker? Should anyone really be buying this type of high dollar luxury item if a loan is needed to do so?
The interest on a 100K, 7% car loan is nearly $600/month.

It may not be the payment turning them off, but the interest paid. 3% loan is ~$10K in interest. 6% loan is ~$20K in interest.

They are one in the same. The monthly payment delta is a direct result of the grand increase in total interest. Cash is king when the interest rates are this high.

Was wondering how long before the Rennlist “we only pay cash” for our vehicles post would show up!
FWIW, we put a large down payment on our Z06 and plan to pay it off in two years for our own reasons. Guess we can’t afford it and shouldn’t of bought it……

Hope you are enjoying your new Z06. Your down payment and financing pay off term are your business.
Many of us are more comfortable going cash on toys and luxury items. This approach has worked well for us. Not exactly sure what that has to do with Rennlist.

Rennlist is famous for no matter what the topic is, people always like to bring up they paid cash for their car and if you can’t, you shouldn’t buy it.
You pulled that off perfectly here. OP said nothing about financing etc, they were just wondering what the current ADM market was. Also, you stated that people shouldn’t be buying these if they needed a loan to do so.
So congrats on your humble brag and your disingenuous comments in this post!

Very simple, judicious, concept that you seem to see mentioned on various portals. This is really not the least bit surprising as it is excellent advice and many will agree.
Sorry that this has obviously angered you but I'll stand by the cash purchase advice.
Handle your finances as you see fit and with whatever load of debt you can sleep with.

Angered, no, humored, yes. I sleep great, thanks for the concern!
Picked mine up February 15th. It was dealer ordered and in transit to dealership. As soon as it was off transport my salesman sent a bunch of pictures while still rapped ,then unwrapped. I put deposit down then drove 997 miles to Ofallon Missouri with my trade and drove it home. Totally pleased with my decision.
NOT on Z06s out here in the West, few dealers here at MSRP, most still looking for big ADMs.
Ditto in the midwest...I called 31 dealers last week. Of course it's a bit different if you're willing to take a car that they have on the lot where the buyer backed out.
I would be watching BAT and buy one with low miles and a warranty. See one you like and bid on it. The worst that can happen is that it's a no-sale or someone pays more than you are willing to. Move onto the next one. They are listing them up all the time. 3 live right now, I believe.
Looking at ordering a Z06 from a local dealer who says they have allocation. They want $10k
over sticker- is that reasonable based on what ya’ll are seeing currently?
thanks in advance
The bottom line for you, regardless of what anyone says is TIME VS MONEY

x100. I called 25+ dealers over the past 2 mos. and ended up getting one for 10 over that was nearly exactly as I'd spec one (red mist 3LZ HTC, ground effects, comp seats), it was in MO so it was a bit of a hassle to set up transport and have the dealer handle the out of state sale (not something a small dealer would be used to I imagine) but was worth it compared to waiting for an ordered car for an indeterminate amount of time. In all my calls most of the ADMs were in the 10-20k range, but easy to negotiate them down to 10k for desirable non Z07 builds, for the less than desirable colors and trims, MSRP can be had but you typically have to sacrifice. For Z07s unsold and incoming, most dealers are at 15-25k over from what I've seen (of course some are still at "50" over, mostly fishing).
Spring is just around the corner!
Worth it to me!
ive had mine for year now with 4k miles!
Love the Silver Flare with Stinger stripe. I haven't seen it in a picture before (only on the build site). I ordered similar spec, with carbon fiber wheels with red stripe and red badging (being produced this week). Race Deck floor looks great with it too.
