As a dealer it isn't that easy for GM to ramp up Z06/E-Ray production, I can almost guarantee there are a few parts that come from outside suppliers that limits production. I doubt GM has extra Z06/E-Ray parts sitting around they are choosing to not assemble. Like many of the Stingray's most popular options, Q9I wheels/High Wing, that are supplier constrained parts for the powertrain, ceramic brakes, CF wheels, CF aero, electrical components for the hybrid, etc limit how many orders they can full fill.
I can assure you GM is making every Z06/E-Ray they can, those care have huge margins for them and advance the brand with a very wealthy portion of the market. They are making SR because those are the parts they have.

It won't be long before the really 'high volume' dealers waiting lists go away for both the Z's and E-Rays. The C8 isn't the 'must have at any cost' car it was any more. Remember those that said the pause in premium pricing was due to the winter weather.... I guess the jokes on them.
Note that GM will likely raise the MSRP some more so when they are discounted, the dealer margins will still be pretty fat. Hold out for a couple more months and you'll have your pick of Z's and E's..... for immediate delivery from a broad selection.

It is good news it didn't take long for the Z06 buyers to get a break and bad news for the flippers.

In the end it's really the interest rates thats are keeping sales down right now...
I'm personally waiting till the ZR1 is announced to see if that deteriorates the selling situation on the Z06 / eRay any further then it might be time to strike GM only seems to be IMPROVING their supply chain manufacturing so the overproduction issue that is popping up for them now won't go away.

We live in an economy with stagflation. Prices are out of sight and wage growth is not there. Toys like a Corvette are some of the first items that people cross off their list. Wait until Bowling Green starts to cut production. GM execs are praying for another tornado to shut the plant down.

It seems simple to me, mass demand for the SR has all but dried up. STOP making them and crank up the Z06 and E-Ray production. While they are making those models, they can let the SR supply dwindle back down to whatever the new demand is. They can control the market by better regulating the supply vs. demand.
Nope, lets not build the **** people want MOST, and flood the market with hundreds and hundreds of SRs, driving down profits and killing those who bought in from 2020-2023.

Hmmm. I didn't order a Z06 because I didn't want to wait what looked like years to get one. Now looks like they're becoming more available. OK next roadblock. I won't want to order a Z06 unless I could get the Z07 track option. Any projections about the Z07 becoming more attainable? I could do without the high rise carbon fiber rear airfoil....be perfectly happy if it were made of something else other than carbon fiber. I think the airfoil/spoiler is a major constraint issue with Z07...could be wrong.

I had a deal on a Z06 at Classic in Grapevine only to be told the following Monday that someone had put a deposit on it before me, but it hadn't updated in the system as the inventory manager was out. So, I then ordered one only to see a perfect spec (for me as a track rat) Stingray Z51 1LT with minimal options pop up on their lot. Got a $3k discount and $1,500 GM card earnings and bought that bad boy. 700 miles in and loving it so far. I cancelled the Z06 order for now as the SR is plenty for me to go beat on at ECR, MSR, and other tracks around here. I did tell them I want a C8 ZR1 to complement my C6 ZR1 I've owned since new. I'll probably skip the Z06 at this point. ZR1/Zora or bust now. In the meantime, loving the reasonably priced SR 1LT Z51. Such a fun car to drive! First Corvette I've bought in 14 years since my '10 ZR1. Never really loved the C7 enough to buy one and didn't want to play any over sticker C8 games the past few years. Happy camper now!

Interest rates are likely not a plus for sales but what a really sad statement that is. Let face it, you have no business buying a 130K-160K dollar toy if a few percentage points on a loan are a deal breaker, ridiculous. Should a $150,000 toy be financed in the first place? A person who answers that question with an emphatic yes doesn't mind working for the bank and being in debt for the rest of his life.

This is awesome to see. I bet by EOY there will be some nice under MSRP offers out there. Will be interesting to see if those Z06's are sold at MSRP. I had bad experience with that dealership back in the day when I ordered a C7 Z from them.. When it showed up they put a 10K ADM on it with a straight face and asked me if I would like to see the car when I went to pick it up. I just walked away and got another car else where. I think someone came in with deep pockets and offered more for the car and took it out from underneath me.. That is when I learned I should have gotten a written contract on orders. A deposit is not enough.

A year ago I would have bought one at MSRP, but now, I realized that there are other people that would get more out of a car like that than me. I struggle to find places to abuse my Stingray.

A very significant percentage of these C8 Z06s will be covered in garages and occaisionally idled in and out of car cruises until their owners tire of the insurance cost and look to free up the cash or get out from under the payments. A small percentage of them will see track duty but not many.

There's a dealer less than 10 miles away from me that has a sitting '24 Z06 albeit with carbon wheels and brakes, $164k sticker - they say nobody wants to drive CF wheels in the city so thats why its still there and they're "willing to work on the price" ...
Where as I still see used 1LZ and 2LZs in the usual white or red going $10/20k over their original 2023 sticker prices...
Someone's gonna give soon.
