Anyone install a tow hook on the front of their Z06? If so, where does it go? I was considering installing the unit I had from my C7Z and wanted to see what it looked like but didn't see anywhere to put it - Im sure its in plain sight and Im missing it - my eyes aren't what they were anymore. Any help and/or pictures would help! Thanks all!

Lol, I was at dealer yesterday, I was also looking for it on the front, didn’t see anything. However, for track setup, I just recalled, there are a few pieces you are supposed to remove in the front, so guessing it’s behind that

Here you go. I just ordered the plastic remover tool kit as well. But do your research to ensure you get real tow hook

I used the one i had on my C7Z and it fit perfectly on the C8Z.

I'll probably buy another one to put back on the C7Z since i'm keeping it for the time being.

How long did it take you to do the job? Do you have any pictures of you car with the Tow Hook to share?

Thanks - The Z is set up differently - it does not have that plastic piece to remove. It appears to be a much larger job.

The Tow hook on the Z06 is just one little plastic piece on the front that you need the trim removal for (or if you feel lucky a screw driver or so) for the front, and similar for the rear.

The picture above is for the aero cover. You do need to remove the tow hook cover to get to the screws holding on the aero cover, but don't need to remove the aero cover for just the tow hook.

Took me like 15 minutes from getting it off my C7Z onto the C8Z. Like someone said you have to prop open the cover to reveal the threads.

I'll take a pic for you, just give me about an hour when i get home.

I'm surprised that these do not come with a tow hook from the factory. My 2016 Camaro SS came with one in the trunk. yes its not pretty like pictured above, but will do the trick when needed.

same here, kinda shocked, all my previous Porsche GT cars came with factory tow hook

Remember, the C8Z is still just a Chevrolet product. As expected Chevy cheaped out again! My C7 Grand Sport had front & rear tow hook receivers, just like my C8Z. Neither car came with tow hooks!!

Also, look out for the rear tow hook cover to fall out sooner or later. The cover on my C7 fell out after removing/replacing it for track events over the years. I'm trying to find a replacement cover for the C8Z, just in case!

Where is the tow hook storage in the C8 Z06? I searched the owners manual and showed where it connects front and rear but did not see reference to storage location. Thanks.

Corvette C8Z06 cars simply DO NOT come equipped from GM Corvette with any emergency tow hook with is quite odd. The GM factory C8/C8Z06 screw in steel tow hook must be bought from GM parts and or aftermarket and its like $80 to $100. I dont like to bitch BUT imagine if you broke down and some flatbed rescue truck driver simply slaps the HOOK around a beautiful cast aluminum A arm or a single thin suspension toe rod or sway bar……blindly installed …..and simply pulls the 3500# car . Ive seen it happen on porsche cars bent arms etc.

I own a Z06 and at Fabspeed my company i have had dozens of C8s and Z06s in our facility since C8s were launched in 2020. We CAD designed a billet C8 emergency tow hook that also has a simple bolt-on provision for a GO-PRO camera . Soon we will launch the dual function tow hook that will fit all C8 cars and i believe it works front and rear bumper covers .

The last item we have completed using my Z06 is front under car bumper spoiler scrape protection. HDPE, high density polyethylene , CNC machined and thermoformed to fit cleanly under Z06 front splitters. NEED to get a C8Z06 Z07 model in to make any and all adjustments so the Fabspeed scrape protection system also fits any changes due to Z07 equipped cars . Anyone have a Z07 and wants to cruise into Fabspeed.com will be taken care of!

Thanks. My C7 had a styrofoam block next to the battery with a mold for tow hook. It did not come with a tow hook either but for emergencies I bought one.

SAME tow hook works on all C8 cars and all C8Z06 cars and E Ray……logically ZR1 too.
