Is it possible the ZR-1 Will Have Its Own Exclusive Colors?
And this is why so many other colors have been dropped? Maybe higher premium colors in the $3-5K range for exotic colors.. Something to think about. This would further separate the ZR-1 at a glance from its lower echelon siblings.

C7 of the Year - Unmodified Finalist 2021
C4 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
Don't see GM doing that at all.

No. Take it to the bank.

This is the only somewhat logical reason I have heard for shrinking the color palate. Not saying it’s the reason, but I like your style.

Yeah OP is right. They're going to add hot pink. The ZR1 will be an official hot wheels toy.

Not likely, unless they do a limited edition run with some commemorative package. But more likely, they are just prepping for a reasonably sized overhaul for 2026 and colors will be part of that. So, we should probably expect a short model year for 2025

No, the logical reason is that it costs less to offer 10 colors than 14; and it also simplifies the unimaginative and profit-oriented stock-order picks that dealerships make.

I still think there will be exclusive ZR1 wild Lambo colors coming at an ultra high premium $$

You would be right if they hadn't already spent the money on a paint shop that could do 14 colors (with the stated goal of being able to paint 14 different colors) or if they didn't charge extra money for some of their colors. Even then, maybe you are correct, we'll see!

Red / Dark Red
Light Blue / Royal Blue
Lime Green / British Racing Green
Accelerate Yellow / Comp Yellow
Amplify Orange / Atomic Orange
White / Silver
Dark Gray / Black
Give or take (some trial and error) this would offer far more variety than the current state of affairs.

I've seen the new paint system. That's not how it works.

I'm sure it isn't. I"m also not privy to GM's assembly line paint-booth functions as of the 2020's. I'm offering a conjecture based on my knowledge of paint coats/functions. You still need different pigments laid down regardless. I also think that once the base pigment is laid--a "YES" or "NO" routing to metallic and tint coat applications--could provide a simplified methodology.
I am not an efficiency expert, though. Just an armchair pundit extrapolating from my knowledge of paint application processes.

GM / Chevy has a history of doing special “Commemorative” colors for anniversaries but not for high performance variants. Not sure the 72nd Anniversary is enough to roll out a special color UNLESS they roll out a few for the Zora (if that ever comes to be, or if it will just end with the ZR1. What was Zora’s favorite color?

You know, I reckon it's pretty common for special colors to cost a bit extra, like $3-5K, for a fancy car like the ZR-1. In the world of luxury sports cars, folks like to make their ride unique, and they're usually willing to shell out for that extra touch of exclusivity.
