What a surprise! A Canadian forum
Hi. how is everyone surviving our down time , Brrrrrrrrr!!!!!! damn cold ay.
We will soon be on the road again. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just found this
forum the other nite, and I am certainly glad I did. I,ve been a member
for the last six months, and as a computer geek, I,m not... To many things
to try to figure out. ex: posting pic's and a sig, and of course those
cute little smily face's, ect, ect and ext. But I guess that will come with time.
I currently have a torch red 94 vert. with a Greenwood package, including
the rear tunnel and hood scoop and louvers. Recently summer of 2004,
got the seats, armrests and glove box done. ( Red on black)
In the fall/ early winter got my chrome Z06 wheels ,17x9.5 fronts and
18x9.5 rears all fitted out with new Khomo tires.Only drove it about 10 klicks and then, put it under cover for the winter. Really looking forward to
the new season .
During the winter I ,ve been thinking about getting my diff. upgraded
to 3.07,s but finding it a bit expensive, ordering a rebuilt from Eckler's, taxes duty shipping and most of all returning core.Have found some used
diff,s in the U.S. ($ 500. to $ 650. In Toronto I talked to Terry, at Driveline 2000 , he was not able to get a 3.07 gear set, but instead
was able to offer a set of 3.54,s he quoted me approx. $ 1000. to rebuild mine, this plus another $ 500. for labour to re & re for my
mechanic. I would like to get this done , but I am concerned about
about gas mileage as I frequent the Brockville area in the summer, a
fair amount of traveling on the weekends.
Has anyone any thoughts , opinions or anyone driving with 3.54,s
your inputs would really be appreciated. PS (This is an automatic, stock
LT-1.)
Thanx Earl

Sorry I can't answer your questions either.....mainly because without punctuation and sentence formation it's nearly impossible to read. j/k This is a great place. Where are you from??

Hi, Sorry about the formatting of my thread , but I just typed it out and posted it, and it did look different when it came out. Just now i'm thinking about it , it may be because if I edit as i am typing and usually push the enter key to give me a new line ,rather than just typing. Iregardless , I live in Agincourt, which is a suburb in the northeast end of Toronto. And yes, I do agree that this is a great forum .
thanx Earl.

Welcome, I have 3.55's in my 72 c/w M22. The only tranny offered for my vette was the 3.73 or 3.55. I love this combo as with a 4 sp my revs are not that high on the highway as opposed to the 3.73. You also have an overdrive on your tranny so I wouldn't worry about mpg at all. Put a good stall/tq converter in there and you are good to go for a lot of fun.
