The May issue of Moneysense magasine says that you can save about $12000 CDN if you buy your new C6 in the U.S. Interesting. I figure I saved about $5000 CDN by buying my '98 in Florida... maybe got a cleaner car too.

Ummm, I don't think so, unless you are willing to take less car, like a 1SA. Also, US dealers can not sell a brand new car to Canada, the car must be used and if it's less than 6 months old, no warranty either.
Just shop it here, I'm getting a C6 at $7,400 off MSRP.
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.

I wouldn't doubt it, we are suckers up here, I buy all my car parts in the states and get them shipped up here to my door and still save 10-20% compared to going down the street to my local speed shop
Could only wiggle $3000 off mrsp. period. And I'm a good customer.
Where can you get that deal?
Bill.
I should have been more precise, -$7,400 was for a coupe, Wilson Niblet in TO was one of the major dealers offering this deal. However, -$3,000 on a vert is a very good deal, discounts on verts are almost as rare as verts themselves at this time. You did good, but I still stand by my opinion that you would not save $12K buying stateside.
i gotta tell you .....more and more im wanting a C6.... not sure where to sell a modded C5 though.. probably just take a bath on the mods right? sell what I can...like the wheels?

Wilson Niblett is where I bought the C6 'vert. I traded-in a C6 coupe. The reason for the discounting on the coupe is two-fold. Not selling as well as everyone hoped and other dealers discounting so Wilson Niblett is trying to lead the way. If they didn't see the others discounting... you would NOT get that kind of deal from them. I also think as soon as May, (into spring and good weather) the prices will creep up some.
BTW Only about 30 'verts for all of Canada alotted for 2005!
The car is awesome. Love the power top and of course an ALL black 'vert.
I have seen Getreal's car and it is gorgeous. But yes you will always take a bath on the mods. If you parted the mods out, you could regain some of that cash. Usually the only time you make money from mods is on an older car where they are typically viewed as high end maintenance. If I hadn't just bought the C6, I'd buy you car.....I saw it a couple times last summer and was always in awe.

Here's the car I bought!
Cheers!
Very nice black C6 convertible you have now! There are a great many C6 coupes just waiting for a buyer these days. The dealers stocked up and they are not selling. Some dealers have cars from last October still on hand. The big discount on coupes is also hurting convertible sales-a approximate $16,000 premium to put the top down is a little hard to swallow. You could get a C6 coupe and a C3 convertible for the difference. Some of those PR Corvettes have been sitting for 7 months and there is a DSOM coupe that has been around for at least EIGHT months! Nice you got a discount on your new C6, perhaps the market will soften some. There are at least 25 convertibles for sale right now...
