Default Fuel Problem

I think I got to replace my fuel filter, took it on the highway this weekend, on WOT the secondaries were not opening, the car wanted to stall unless I took my foot off the gas. I got a filter at home.
Problem could be both, driving on city streets was fine.

Any Suggestions, want to make the April 23rd event.

Have you done any engine work lately? It almost sounds like it could be a vacuum or timing problem ....

Nothing to the engine, had a similar problem last fall, a guy down the street adjusted the
carb (secondaries) drove on the highway, seemed fine.

FYI

Did a search, here's Lars answer to the same problem.

Sounds like fuel starvation at WOT - you're going lean. Causes include:

1. Low float level
2. Dirty filter
3. Kinked rubber fuel line either back at the tank or at the forward frame rail
4. More than 1 fuel filter installed (in-line filter somewhere in the system in addition to the in-carb filter)
5. Dirty tank pick-up sock
6. Poor fuel pressure (bad fuel pump)
7. Incorrect secondary metering rods (too fat)
8. Incorrect secondary airvalve spring windup (should be at 3/4 turn) - loose spring will cause lean secondary operation
