I am sure we will all be wanting to leave sherway right at 12. I hope none of us get caught speeding on the highway to get there!

The cruise to Hooters is half the fun. Should be a pretty impressive convoy up the 427/401/410

the 427/401/410 is never bad that time of the day. I travel it every weekend almost. It would be nice if we could all stay together..

Will be there weather permitting.
I have a question that I was hoping someone could answer, my 71 vin states it was built as an L48, but I have a 6500 RPM red line tach. Am I correct to assume that somewhere the original tach was replaced with a 6500 tach. I thought that the 6500 red line tachs were installed in LT1 builds.

1972 was the first year that the VIN indicated which engine was in the car.
On your block, there are two set of characters stamped: the first set is called the assembly stamping, and the second set is your VIN.
Your assembly stamping will start with V, then the month&day it was made, then the engine/tranny
ie: V0405CJL indicates a small block made on April 5 with a base 350/270hp with a 4 spd
For 1971:
CGZ = LT-1 with 4 spd
CGY= ZR-1 with M22
CJL= L-48 with 4 spd
CGT=L-48 with auto (early production)
CJK=L-48 with auto (late production)
Hope this helps.
